"Under the Cherry Moon" with Prince in attendance I thought this story might be interesting to some....
Back in the day, "Under the Cherry Moon" opening night (not the premiere in KY?) I was working as an usher at the now-defunt Knollwood Theatre in St. Louis Park.
Prince would occasionally attend movies here, I believe.
But on that particular night, he showed up with his entourage and was discreetly seated near the back.
The buzz quickly began...
"Prince is here!"
and by the end of the movie there was THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE!
Don't remember if it was a standing ovation or not.
Bet that didn't happen too often.

That sounds awesome! psst I use to live over in the Mayfield/Paducah area! St. Louis was fun to visit when I lived over that way

no it didn't happen too often, the movie flopped and was out of the theaters so quick. I remember going to see it, the theater was empty. It wasn't that bad, and the music was stellar but his pop moment was definitely over by that time.

I doubt Prince's pop moment was "definitely over by that time" as u put it, when he scored just scored a #1 song, Kiss, from the movie. "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."
