I was 17 years old when this album came out. I thought "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" the song was the best song on it. I didnt know that the track was made in 1988 until years later. I was quite surprised. I wish the rest of it had that return to form sound.

I always liked when he was the most vulnerable and open so, I love you but i don't trust you anymore. I'd be curious to know what it was that made him write that about Mayte (pretty sure it was about her, but he had so many women who knows.) i heard recently that Mayte did something underhanded to trick him, they didn't say anything specific though. | |

Depending on the mood, "The Sun, the Moon, " "Ilvyoubut..." or even Undisputed and sometimes The Greatest, or Rave, but never Tangerine. | |

Rave seems divided into half very good songs and the other half subpar for Prince but not bad songs. Favorite is I love You but Don't Trust You Anymore (Like Pete said, Prince is best when he is the most vulnerable. Several songs already mentioned are a close second.
BTW, since you are looking for some guidance, If I was trying to make a Cd(s) for someone, I would make sure it captured several of Prince's sides unless I knew they hated a particular type of music: Vulnerable love ballads, hot funky songs, some offbeat songs, a few hits if they are conpletely unaware, a dance workout (like those frrom 1999), songs about his values (such as Gold), songs that showcase his rock guitar (look no further than Lotusflow3r) something from the mature Prince off Aoa, etc. (these are just a few) |
