Yeah, saw him in the red parade, but from memory, I think it was only worn once. I think it was the UK aftershow at Busby's. He wore pale blue at the main show, and red at the aftershow. Starting to get foggy as it was 30 years ago on two weeks time. Scary!

THANK U! That's definitely more info than we had about it so far! I hope there's more footage out there, it is so striking in comparison to the other Parade outfits. You are very lucky to have seen him in it!! As my 2nd all-time favourite singer has said 'Memories Are Designed To Fade." - Sadly

But WHAT A MEMORY to hang on to!!

I'm pretty sure that was the only time he wore it in red. I saw the majority of the Euro shows and it tended to be the black, blue (two shades), white, purple or yellow. Don't remember green ever making an appearance and red only the once. It also strikes a memory because at that aftershow (my first, I was 16), I thought, what is he wearing!?!?! I was refering to the coat, not the red. I thought the coat was terrible. But he played a wicked guitar jam with it on (on a night where he didn't pick up the guitar on the main show until Purple Rain).

OMG YES!! I'm going for sure! Like, I will be purchasing transportation upcoming payday (within the next 10 days). I have already figured out that I'm taking a train there (always wanted to) and then flying home - had that week off and hadn't figured out what to do with it yet. NOW I KNOW!! Really hope I can meet some of my purple fam there! It will really make the trip that much better if so!

At least this is a HUGE venue, in comparison to First Avenue so there's a much better chance of getting tickets - if two of us are trying for tickets, will increase our chances. Or more!! Hope a few more are able to come out as well!

Though I would also want to see what's shaking at First Avenue maybe the night before/afterwards. They would be smart to have something that coincides, since so many out of towners will be in the area

Love this version even though the yellow suit on the other is gorgeous

I know, weekend would have been better. I thought at least it was a Friday. Was the first thing I looked for. Then saw it was on the Thursday and was like damn. Then checked my sched and was like...how in the WORLD do I happen to have that week off? Just by chance. It's like I HAVE to go!

Plus, I checked it out, and can use the airmiles - that are literally good for NOTHING - been holding onto them for years and years - for part of my trip Now I just have to find afforadable accom...also don't want to wait because as soon as they DO announce it, those rates will be $$$$$ and I will have to ...um...hang out in Denny's over night or something.

Might be able to find something cheap via Airbnb. Worth checking anyway. I am SO jealous. Would love to chill with the purple fam!

I could. In fact, he handed me a tamborine. He also threw his shirt off in 'Head', and being right in front of him, I caught it. But being a hetrosexual male, I just caught it and thought 'whatever', but was suddenly set upon mostly rabid females who tore the shirt apart in about two seconds. I still have the shoulder pad that was left in my hand, but not the rest that was divided up!
