"Batman" repositioned as a Prince tribute

Today before "Star Trek" at Cinemark they played one of their ads for their cinematic engagement of old movies.

Today it was "Batman" "Animal House" and others done to "Partyman;" I couldn't really identify if it was all Prince or some imitation-Prince; it certainly wasn't all fromt the common version.

However, it was featuring "Batman" "With Music By Prince."

So selling it as a Prince tribute.

Just passing it along.

They had that ad before "Ghostbusters" last week, here in Utah.

I wanted to mention this when I watched Star Trek last night but thought it was too minor, they had a soundalike singing Partyman during the trailer. I'll go see it when it comes out not just for him but I haven't seen the movie in years and I want to reminisce about high school in 89.

Conor

They misses a good casting opportunity when they made Batman - Prince should have played the Joker in one of the movies.

I agree. Or better yet the character that Prince came up with for the videos.

It seems like they mixed real Prince with a soundalike.

I don't think it was all Prince's version; some of it sure sounded like faux Prince.

Yeah, clearly it was a mistake to choose Jack Nichokson, the movie star and perfect choice for Joker in the 80's, over Prince.

Or perhaps Christopher Nolan should have chosen Prince over Heath Ledger. Maybe we'd still have Heath Ledger if he had.

yeahthat Not to knock Jack Nicholson because I do think he did a great job as Joker, but it would've been cool to have Prince as the Gemini (the character he created).

That's a brilliant idea, you know. He NEEDED a creative role like that. Something he could play with, be "himself" and act in.

It would have done wonders for his film career, if he'd have been willing to cede some control and do a small-but-important part in a huge film.

Have you heard all the versions aka remixes? If not, you'd know that it's Prince.

I've heard many, many of them; don't know about all. But some of the parts did NOT sound like Prince.
