Disturbing information on Dr. Howard Kornfeld I was doing some reading about Dr. Howard Kornfeld, and it doesn't paint a pretty picture. Here is just a snipit of one person's horror story.....
From Heavy.com:
I know another patient who died while taking the unmonitored buprenorphine prescribed by Dr. Kornfeld. His name was Dr. John Boyle Borchers. He was a neurosurgeon and a brilliant guy. He was teaching at Stanford while taking these powerful detox meds. John took off in a plane one evening heading for Tahoe, while on these meds and crashed and died. This doctor should be shut down. You CANNOT DISPENSE BUPRENORPHINE safely unless monitored medically during the transition from the opiode meds. Sending ones son, not a doctor, and NOT calling 911 to get immediate help for Prince, is simply unacceptable.
Also, check out this link on YELP.....many people said they came close to dying under Dr. Kornfeld's care.....Thank God they are still alive to tell their story. Sadly, Prince did not have that chance.....

I know......reading stuff like this only breaks my heart even more! To quote Dr. Drew Pinsky.....he always said this....."Standard care is the best care".......because often times, a celebrity (famous person), or a person with extreme wealth often do NOT get the standard care, which is the BEST care. I always remember what he said, and it's true!

U know what I don't get about P and other "high profile" clients Dr's have? 4 most of us money poses a problem/barrier 2 good health care. I've always found it so odd that when money isn't an issue ppl are supplied with whatever they want usually by shady Dr's and less than subpar healthcare.

ACharmed.....Yes you are SO right! Prince was a very intelligent person, so I question if he inquired about Dr. Kornfeld himself.....I read that it was his "group" that reached out for help. I just don't know what to think at this point. I just wish that Prince stayed in the hospital because he should have not been at home alone. His doctor's have failed him miserably. Dr. Kornfeld should have never sent his son to PP. That was highly inappropriate, not to mention "dangerous" and "unprofessional", and even "illegal". Sorry for my rant, it just makes me upset. Yes, if he had been monitored properly he would still be with us. I say "properly" because MJ was supposedly being monitored by a doctor (quack) and look what happened to him. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Don't be sorry for ranting. I think we ALL feel like ranting. The thing is, if you had googobs of money and were famous, wouldn't you always assume that no one would dare f*ck you over? Look at Oprah. She was ignored and refused entrance into an exclusive boutique. She said it wasn't dawning on her because in her mind she was probably thinking she's a BILLIONAIRE. Why would anyone f*ck her over. But it happens. Don't forget the professionals who afraid to tell a rich client, "Nope. Sorry. I can't do that. Why? Cuz I'm a doctor and you're not and the treatment that you WANT may not be the treatment that you NEED." Sad, but true.

I agree with most of what you said, especially that he should've stayed longer in the hospital - but it's up to the patient if they want to stay. Hospitals are not prisons. And we really don't know what was said or what happened after Prince was revived. I read something about not being able to have a private room. Privacy is great, but most hospitals are understaffed and have very little wiggle room for celebrities' needs, especially that it was an emergency landing, without any warning. Unfortuneately it was up to Prince to stay or leave, and sadly he left. Hard to say it, but most of us don't get a second chance on life, but he did. He could have gone straight to any doctor of his choice, they are all bound by law to his privacy. On the other hand, addiction to pain killers is stronger than most people understand, and he wasn't able to get the help he needed in time ( My dad's been in recovery for over 40 years and it's something he lives with every day. Yes, I agree. I just feel that some of these doctor's who treat celebrities let it go to their "heads", and sometimes they do things that they shouldn't be doing. For instance, look at MJ -- you would think that doctor's would have learned, but it seems it still goes on today and is a real problem.

I think P should've stayed in the hospital 2 after the plane incident but I think pride/ego and the fact that he never liked 2 worry any1 got in the way. The story was they didn't have any private rooms. No, I don't buy it, he just didn't want 2 stay. Which ok fine if U don't want 2 stay in a strange city/hospital but geez even if he didn't let every1 know what was going on with him, HE HIMSELF knew and he should have sought proper care. That's the kicker 2 all of this is P himself is 2 blame largely.

I get why U say that but honestly, if any1 with tons of cash thinks that they are ignorant and/or have a golden stick up their ass.

Ppl think I'm crazy but this is why I believe Prince was murdered.... Everything points to this This so called doctor should be prosecuted..... I just don't understand why the authorities accepted Princes death and not looked into the history of this Doctor. I want justice for Prince and for any other person who suffered.... He knew the potential harm of the medication so Why prescribe something lethal????? mailto:www.iDon'tThinkSo.com.Uranus

Smartness had nothing to do with seeking out meds.....The public has to be in an uproar to even get the guy arrested. Then from jb to mj to elvis's dr.'s its either NO TIME or little time.Keep in mind if this dr gets arrested some crap is going to come out about our prince. These blood sucker attorneys will make damn sure.Another celeb sadly will meet the same death.Once again prob dr shopping

Intelligence, money and connections usually can't save lives when it comes to drug dependency.
What many have that Prince didn't have was a 12-step sponsor, someone who's walked the path before him and knows what to do. They are the true experts. They know every aspect of the problem and know exactly what to do, and if and when it's time to ask for a Dr.'s help they know that too. Unfortunately, for many superstars it's far too uncomfortable to go into a 12 Step meeting asking for help. It's scary enough for a regular Joe. [Edited 7/22/16 16:15pm]

Can someone clarify exactly what was in Prince's system at the time of his passing from offical sources? All I know is that Fentanyl is stated in the M.E.'s report but people keep telling me that he had all these other drugs in his system and I'm tired of arguing with people who can't give me real verification.
