I don't think we're fooled. But literally on the edge of patience with under a month to go. But Tyka was one that made the 'Official Prince Tribute Oct 13th at the US Bank Stadium' announcement in end of July about this October event and she hasn't updated to say of any other alternative one way or the other. If things weren't as organized/finalized as they should have been, she/they could have been less 'plan now it's on in October 13th' and more 'working on an event, stay tuned' it would have relieved this imposed deadline to make this happen! Since so many of us took that to be that the event - ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAMILY since she posted it - was happening and therefore purchased flights/accommodation accordingly. Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

Some of the reactions on Twitter are comical. People complaining that it's in St. Paul and not Minneapolis. Um, Prince performed twice at Xcel and his last concert in the Twin Cities (excluding PP shows) was in Maplewood which is a St. Paul suburb. I'm not sure what happened with US Bank, if they couldn't come to an agreement or were worried about selling it out but ask most locals and I'm sure they'd tell you they'd rather go to a concert at Xcel Energy Center than Target Center. Those are pretty much the only options. Paisley Park is in your heart

Well the announcement references NPG so I'm assuming that would include the various members he had over the years. Paisley Park is in your heart

YaThink said: ***OCTOBER 13 TRIBUTE IS CURRENTLY NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAMILY OF PRINCE*** Don't be fooled π What??? It's listed as the official tribute concert. You're saying his family is not involved? Even though it's on the same night as the original announcement from Tyka?? Paisley Park is in your heart

Hands down, Mike Scott may be his most underrated band mate. With Brown Mark and Dez finally getting their recognition after the First Avenue shows. And can there be Prince music without Eric Leeds? Can we get all the Revolution, NPG Horns, and Hornheadz please? That'd be heaven -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

FYI. Someone posted this on one of the numerous threads within this forum regarding the upcoming memorial tribute: No word from Tyka, but Sharon is quoted: "The family is extremely excited to provide an opportunity for the world to participate in the tribute for our brother Prince," Prince's half-sister, Sharon Nelson, said in a press release. "This concert will be an event not to be missed.β

Well I don't consider John Mayer and Christina Aguilera to be b-listers. I know you're just sharing your opinion but I seem to remember people here not wanting it to be full of big name stars but rather former band members and artists who worked with Prince. Yes I would love it if Sheila and the Revolution were going to be there but they got Morris Day, NPG, 3rdEye Girl which encompasses a large chunk of the people he worked with over the years. And for all we know there are egos involved...Sheila did her tribute at BET. Maybe she feels like she won't be in charge of this so she doesn't want to be part of it. Who knows. All I know is no matter who was announced we'd all have opinions on whether it was doing right by Prince or not. Paisley Park is in your heart

Absolutely . Its going to mean different things to different people. But people outside of America would probably have to google Mayer just to find out who he was. .

Look if I had my wish it would still be at US Bank Stadium and the best of the best would be there. But I can only imagine what it would take to pull that off and sadly I'm not sure anyone associated with the estate right now is equipped to do that. Maybe they should have planned something much bigger and waited until next year but then you'd have complaints about why it's taking them so long to do something for fans. It's just a crappy situation all around. Paisley Park is in your heart

According to Pollstar some of the tickets will be priced at $19.99. http://www.pollstar.com/n...?ID=826917 Very cool if it's the majority of them. What's not cool is Sheila E just sending out a tweet about her show with Morris Day on the 15th. I don't think it's a coincidence this was tweeted shortly after the official tribute concert was announced. Paisley Park is in your heart

What about Prince's beloved Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder? Anita Baker. Morris Day and the Time. The NPG. BILAL, ALONE, WILL BE WORTH THE PRICE OF THE TICKET. Did I mention Chaka Khan???

One could argue it's quite disrespectful to call this line-up "whoever was available". I don't consider Stevie wonder and Chaka Kahn to be "whoever was available". Nor Morris Day or Morris Hayes. I have a feeling if this line up was BeyoncΓ©, JT, Bruno Mars etc. some would complain about that too. I'm hoping the Revolution or maybe Dez or Andre get added or are surprise guests. ππ» Paisley Park is in your heart

I'm so disappointed. The majority of this line-up has no connection to Prince. Christina Aguilera and John Mayer...really? I think I'm gonna save my money and do something else in Minni that night, instead. I don't have a problem with them moving to a smaller venue or being in St. Paul. I think that was just a smart move. I don't care about A, B or C list artists either. I just want to see artists who have a connection either becasue they worked with him or were outspoken fans. I mean, Trisha Yearwood was a member of his fan club back in the early '90s and made that known. I saw her a few days after his passing and she'd been wearing nothing but purple since the day he died. She would have been a better choice for the lineup than some of these perfomers. Maroon 5, Sting, Stevie Nicks all would have been better because they all had a stronger connection. I don't necessarily want to see any of them but would pay money to because they were fams, too, and spoke about that publicly. If they wanted a top guitarist, it should be Kravitz or Clapton who both had connections to P. Not Mayer...he shouldn't be the one. I'm going to Minni that week no matter what but I don't think I'm going to this show. I'd rather spend ticket money for the show in Cleveland on the 15th. I'll be back to Ohio by then and can easily drive to Cleveland. If there's any other orgers who want to do something of our own on the 13th, I'm game for that.

I don't remember Sheila tweeting or posting on FB about the Revolution shows at First Ave. I always thought that was odd. Even some of Prince's other band members like Shelby, Liv and Ida gave a shout out to the Rev. Sheila was silent. Either something happened or there's some ego/powerplay thing going on.
