Seriously though...WHO Tweets stuff like MAKE YOUR TRAVEL PLANS PurpleArmy - if it wasn't concrete that the event was going to happen?! Something is holding this up, it can only be the estate's dealings. Because as far as I feel like he pretty much confirms Stevie Wonder is IN, we have seen people like 3rd Ee Girl and the Time and Mint Condition state they will be at the U.S. Bank on Oct 13th...so what in the H.E.L.L. is going on?!

P.s. I don't think anyone has an issue of a tribute concert taking place IN Cleveland. It's the date that's the problem. They could have picked any date they wanted but specifically chose one that could essentially make the fams have to CHOOSE. That's underhanded and catty.

Exactly. Its not the fact that other events are taking place, but its the location and timing. It certainly fucks it up for those coming from halfway around the globe.

If this stadium show isn't gonna happen, CLUE US IN and move on...

At this point, I would be happy with a night at PP or even getting Target Center and having huge screens with Prince concerts blasting....Just give us a chance to all be together, remember Prince and celebrate.....Is it that DAMN HARD?????

I might add...First Ave is booked the night of the 12th and 14th....but the 13th is OPEN!!!

There is a DJ from LA that sometimes organizes Prince themed nights at clubs, I've seen the pictures and videos posted on Facebook. He has a TON of memorabilia and of course, music, and is a huge and very knowledgeable Prince fan himself and really puts in a great amount of time and effort to make the night as immersed in all things Prince/MPLS related as possible. (ps. I don't know this guy, I'm just impressed by his devotion and work to create a night of music all about Prince and the Minneapolis sound)

All the above to say, that at this point I wish if the actual tribute show isn't going to happen, that they could get that guy - or someone like him - to set up a 'Prince night' at First Ave on that open night of the 13th so that fans from all over could meet each other, dance in the iconic First Avenue to just Prince (and related artists) music, and look at memorabilia and share memories and stories of good times with each other. Maybe some local associates like Bobby Z or Paul P or whoever else I'm forgetting who lives here in the area (I'm sorry for my bad memory...) could even drop by for a bit? It would be a quieter, less splashy event but I think it would be healing and a special night for fans to just be together. Anyway, just thinking out loud.

So if the estate can't get their stuff together for us stadium on the 13th, maybe First Avenue will come up with something good for us on their own. I'd actually prefer that at this point but how do you get tickets for there and notified when they go on sale? I really wishope I could have attended one of the tributes by the Revolution thers, my heart broke then but it was also right there in spirit.

Tweets like this mean absolutely nothing at this point. I hope he realizes that.

Curious as to where all the people on Twitter are getting that this is a Live Nation event. McMillian has always been the spokesperson about it. I've never seen anything from Live Nation. I can't imagine them waiting this long to release tickets. I did see were some people were encouraging the fams to contact the mayors and what not to see if they would help get it together. Not a bad idea since Minneapolis stands to make a sizable profit from the visitors. You'd think they'd be rolling out the red carpet and moving mountains to get it on the books.

But like so many of you have pointed out, a tweet about keeping the faith at this point seems fairly hopeless.
