I'm always late to the party...

...but for some reason Pink Cashmere has really caught on with me. I never really cared for it before. Now I can't stop playing & singing it. I love the smooth melody and harmonies. The instrumental at the end goes on a little long for me, but I'm really diggin' it otherwise. Only 20 years late!

No-one else could understand you, you're too complex. They say nothing's perfect, but they don't know you...

One of my faves as well!

Same here! The only "good" thing that's come from his passing is that it's made me listen with new ears to a lot of his vast musical output that I previously dismissed. As a result I have a lot more favorite prince songs than ever before!

Exactly! That's what's happening with me. I'm feeling a little guilty about it though...

I like Pink Cashmere a lot too, especially for a song intended just for a hits collection. Not as commercial as most such songs.

As far as the related comment about appreciating a lot more of his songs, I definitely agree. We had such an abundance of riches that I think many of us were spoiled and didn't know it. There were times if I didin't initally think it was an instant classic, i would get somewhat dismissive of it. duh I have been listenning to Rave, one of my least favorite CDs (I thought), but now really appreciate several of the songs on it.

I have been having this same experience and called it the same thing 'with new ears' and also seem to find new faves every day! I am also grateful that there is so much I hadn't yet heard (Crystal ball, old friends 4 sale, one nite only and so on, 2010, etc) so am relieved to have more to discover smile

The first time I heard Pink Cashmere I was like ...okay nice song..but if you really listen..he's freakin playing all the instruments and doing all the vocals..brilliant..amazing..genius..and now I hear it with totally different ears. It is often the song I share with friends as an example of his amazing talent.

Old Friends is rarely mentioned here (at least lately), but is really good and unique in its consistent blues rock vibe.
