I might be thick, but I didn't get the $25K Chanel purchase request bit...? Why ask the book publicist? Seems random.

The only good to come from this tragedy is the wonderful stories by his former employees, etc.

"He loved Chanel. One time, his assistant called and was like, "Can we get $25,000 worth of Chanel clothes on your credit card?" And I was like, "Uh, no?" It was my corporate card, but it was under my name so I had to get the bill paid, and I was like, "No!" She was like, "But we're not going to keep them. I'm buying them, and he's going to try them on, and he's only going to keep like two things." I'm like, "No, no, no." So it was possible to say no to him."
Yeah if he had ever called me up like that? I'd been like umm I don't even have that kind of credit limit and who's gonna pay this bill when it comes due cause it sure won't be me! [Edited 7/21/16 6:55am]

Because the book publicist has a budget, he is publicizing a book and some clothing could be paid for out of that account. That's how it all works. Lovely anecdotes here. And another associate to talk about how healthy P was and how he didn't drink or do drugs. Damn damn damn I curse whatever it was that pushed him to painkillers. Paisley Park is in your heart

. What I didn't understand is why put the clothing on a credit card when designers are often willing to LOAN clothing to celebrities for red carpet appearances, photo shoots, etc.
We also don't know if the Chanel was for him or a girlfriend at the time.
But yeah...didn't Prince have a credit card? Was he overspending like a teenager and exceeded his allowance for the week? . Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Sure designers will throw clothing at you if you're a big enough celebrity AND you're sample size. This is important. Oprah isn't sample size so she pays for all of her outfits and gets them tailored. Leslie Jones doesn't have designers throwing clothes at her either.
Prince wasn't men's sample size. All of his outfits were tailored perfectly to his body. This is why he looked hot instead of like a little boy playing dressup.
Sample size women are basically size 4 and model height. How many tall women did he date?
It could be he wanted to expense clothing on the account, try on a store's worth of stuff and return most of it. Or maybe he went overboard. Both are possible.
