did the full version of "Turn Me Loose" ever turn up?

the only one that has been circulating afaik is the one with the radio commentary
over it at the end (oh my goodness, prince, still showing no signs of slowing down)

and then it is faded out/cut off.

i've always liked this song, especially the guitar solo, it's so cool cool

so since that first outing on the radio i've been hoping it would pop up somewhere
like cause & effect or rich friends and hot summer etc.

so is it out there? or is this one of the few that he kept under his hat, except that
1 outing on the radio and the performance on jay leno?

that's a shame.

let's hope stuff like this well eventually be released by the estate in years to come.
i'm not just interested in 80s unknown outtakes or albums but also in more recent
things. there were interesting projects or 'forgotten' songs in all the stages of his
carreer.

My version is exactly how IstenSzek describes - DJ commenting over the start of the track, fades out at end, 3:16 in length.

The live version from Jay Leno is great — reminds me a bit of Fury live on SNL, at least the vocal delivery.

This song was so bizarre.

It came from nowhere, Prince the rudeboy was back and bad as hell, No leak, no single, no download, no hidden track, no b-side.

Great song though. Prince could still bring the dirtyfunk.

PrinceVault says Turn me loose along with pFUNK/F.U.N.K could have been intended for an unreleased 2008 album. I'd love to hear that.

He'd been quite into the JW religion for some time at this point. So this song, specifically it's lyrical content was just... almost shocking to hear, in a good way.

Was it a message to fans? If I want to write like this I can?

There's an edit on the new 4 disc bootleg of non-album tracks that surfaced in the last few days. I haven't listened yet (will this week) but heard that it is done well to eliminate the radio dj intro and make it more like a studio track.

I'd like to hear that. All I have an MP4 file of the Tonight Show performance, which I haven't watched in a long time.

It is done well and sounds a bit cleaner to my ears. As do a few others like Same Page Different Book

Considering Prince shared the track with a radio station and played in on The Tonight Show, it seems like it was intended for release somewhere. I'd LOVE to hear an album that had this song and F.U.N.K. as they are among the best from the decade. cool
