Soul Sanctuary, Right Back Here in My Arms, Somebody's Somebody, Face Down, My Computer, The Holy River (purely for the guitar solo).

The Love we make, that is an incredible jam and gets a lot of love here. If all of Emancipation was of similar quality - it would be Sign o the Times quality.

Close 2nd is the Holy River, a great spiritual number, emotion and a blistering guitar solo.

These are the only songs that get 10/10 on the 3 discs on my song ratings list.

I too vote for The Love We Make (although I too love the Montreux live version 2013).

Second for me, In This Bed I Scream

Has so many really good songs but not one that seems exceptioanl. If I had to go with my favorite, it would be either Holy River or Soul Sanctuary.

I think the third section of Joint 2 Joint is the best piece of music on the whole album, but if I had to pick my top song, beginning to end, it's probably either Jam of the Year or In This Bed I Scream.

Although y'all have made me relisten to "The Love We Make", which for some reason I've never really paid attention to, but it's pretty fantastic.

Best....I would have to agree with other posts...The Love We Make...this is an epic song in the Prince canon...album version, Montreux, etc... amazing!

as far as my Favorite... Dreamin' About U.... such a uniquely different Prince song that hooked me from the first listen....in my top 10 Prince songs of all time!

I wish I knew where to find different versions of the Emancipation album songs with a different production...

That's the best song on there imo.

I've seen a YouTube video of him playing TLWM live at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2011 and it is absolutely fantastic, especially the guitar solo at the end.

My favorites are The Love We Make, Slave, Joint 2 Joint, Saviour, and My Computer.

Prince also played some of the Love we make at the Auckland second concert in February, then he went into Adore, my heart nearly exploded.

Why is it "profoundly disturbing"? In fact, what is even remotely disturbing about my saying that I really don't like the album aside from that one track?

If I'm honest I don't mind "Slave". The rest of it? No. I can't abide the production or the whole sound of the album in general, and think the songs are all very weak. One of his worst albums in my opinion. Hardly "profoundly disturbing" though, is it?

Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother, Wife..I could listen to that over and over again!
