Given that the thread look like itis dying down, here is a summary of the 18 reponders who did the full rankings (including 4 who picked the top 5 and bottom 5 , but did not chose to place them in order)

1. Diversity Rules - 18 of the 19 songs were mentioned in the top 5 by at least one respondent, with the exception being Delirious. 18 of the 19 songs were also mentioned in someone's bottom 5 except for Let's Go Crazy. It just goes to show you that Prince has so many great songs and different sounds that it is impossible to get a consensus.

2. When Doves Cry was the clear frontrunner. It was ranked in 14 of the 18 top 5 list and was number 1 on 6 of these.

3. Other songs that made around half of the top 5 lists include Purple Rain (10), Little Red Corvette (9), Kiss (8), and the dark horse ICNTTPOYM (8). The later one was interesting given that it barely made the top 10 on Billboard to begin with.

4. The remaining number 1 songs were scattered, with only Sign of the Times (3) and 7 (2) getting more than 1 top rating.

5. Before you read further, I imagine you might correctly guess the two most mentioned bottom 5 songs - Pause fo a guess wink

6. Yes, Both TMBGITW (12 of 18) and Batdance (also 12) were mentioned the most frequently, with TMBGITW having dubious honor of being mentioned as the very least favorite song ( 4 of 14 - remember 4 responders didn't put songs in order). The other ones mentioned most in the bottom 5 were Delirious and Cream (8 lists each). The only songs that were mentioned more than once for very least favorite are Cream (2) Diamands and Pearls (2).

7. The only song never mentioned on the bottom 5 lists was Let's Go Crazy.

8. The most non-polarizing songs (rarely made either type of list) include Let's Go Crazy and Pop Life. Most polarazing song may surprisingly be Sign O' Times (Made 6 top 5 lists including 3 votes for #1 but also made 6 bottom 5 lists with 1 vote for least favorite.

9. Other surprises to me was the neutrality of responders to Let's Go Crazy ( after all it was one of his biggest hits) and that Diamand and Pearls didn't do as poorly as I had thought given the hate for it that is often shown on the org (yes, 6 did put it in bottom list but only two as the worst, 3 put it in their top5, and 9 didn't place it in either list).

10. If there are ultimately several more responders, I will eventually update. If not, thanks to those who did.

I love that you did this gandorb! I feel a little like a freak for putting TMBGITW in my top 5 lolol what can I say that song has really grown on me over time. And if I had taken that off it would have been replaced by Cream lol

We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams. . .
