CD's/Records Store in NYC?

Hi there:

I'm going to be in Manhattan for a week and I'd like to buy the last albums Prince released. Hitnrun, PlectrumElectrum. (and buy other artists' music too)

I was googling and I only find stores with classical music and other's styles but nothing from the 2000s on.

I wonder if any of you know of a good store around where I can find them at reasonable prices. (LP's & Cd's).

I'm old school. I need physical music.

I need to smell it.

Thanks beforehand.

Not hard. Use Yelp. Whether the biz is good or bad, they're listed, and it's a good guide to start with. Ignore the reviews, just find places that exist, then research on FB from there. Are they active on their social media? Do they have a website? etc.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

There's not many left in the city. One place still around is Generation Records on Thompson Street in the West Village. There's also a couple of dudes near Union Square selling concerts on dvd's. Definitely check out Generation. They have very rare Prince albums.

If you make it out to Williamsburg in Brooklyn, go to Rough Trade. Awesome record store, awesome concert venue (saw Moses Sumney there).

Not a Record Store, but I did just leave a Wal-Mart in the Midwest, and both CDs are sold there. Good luck.

In NYC all are really gone, as far as finding catalog go to Barnes and noble on union square, stay away from used cd shops because they jacked Prince CDs through the roof, 50 bucks for emancipation, the day before he died it was 5 dollars.
