Your Prince Listening Habits Before and After?

Before April 21, I was grooving to HRN1, and a whole bunch of other stuff including Adele, Merle Haggard, etc.

Of course, over the course of 34 years or so of fandom I've always circulated between all Prince and sometimes no Prince.

Since April 21 it's ALL Prince.

Ya'll?

I have always listened to Prince and associated artists in yearly order starting with For You to most recent it's strange that just a few months before his death I started listening randomly

Before April it was a mix of Prince and my other fav artists. Since the 21st it was too hard for me to listen to any Prince or other people's music either. I slowly got back to playing Prince again but mostly his upbeat songs, still hard for me to listen to his slow songs at the moment.

Before: The new stuff (last four years) with selections from all of his eras.

Now: Same interest in the last few years, but loads of stuff from YT, both performances and some unreleased I had not heard before. I've long had most of the widely circulating unreleased tracks, but not I Lust U Always, Our Destiny, etc.

In particular, I Lust U Always pops in my head all the damn time -- then somehow You're in my system rehearsal pops... I think about music all the time, it's a blessing and a curse.

Pretty much the same as always, only I managed to get more of his newer stuff on my iPod -- I kinda didn't keep up with everything he was doing post-Rave, though, so it's all new to me. It's pretty awesome to get to hear stuff that I hadn't before.

i always listened to prince so i'm not listening to him any more than i did. For awhile, i wasn't listening to any, i was on here just trying to figure out what the hell went wrong, and still don't really have much more info than i did on the day he died.

For me since his death I don't skip songs as much. I think subconsciously it's because now, regardless of the vault, his music is now finite. So I digest it all more preciously

Before when I listened to Prince I tended to only listen to my favorites.

Now I am rediscovering songs I have not heard in awhile and I am listening/watching a lot more live concerts.

Before I didn't listen to much of his material after 3121 and did not have a subscription to Tidal. So I am exploring that now. A lot of his music was hard to listen to even up until a few weeks ago. My favorites have not changed and when I feel like "Princing it out", I still listen to the oldies but with a few of the new ones that I like sprinkled in.

I feel some strange sort of guilt as a fan because I never listened to Planet Earth, Lotusflower, AOA, etc. so just trying to be fair.

Before: Prince and others.
After: Initially, nothing. I just couldn't. I literally understood what it meant "the day the music died". Now I am able to listen to him again, but only him. Currently everything else seems trite. I've discovered and purchased so much of his music I had dismissed pre-1999, and post-Batman (until 2014 when I ran out and got AOA & PE). Its been an AMAZING several weeks of listening is all I can say. Loving the journey as much as is possible considering the heavy dose of bittersweet on top.

I would have spurts of time when I listened to Prince non stop. But after he passed his CD's only are in my stereo. If I turn on the radio and hear a song I like i'll listen to it but then it's back to the CD. I don't see it ending any time soon! I discovered a ton of songs that I've never heard in the past, so I am happy that I am able to broaden my horizons on all of his talents.

Before: Mostly Prince with other music genres and other favorite artists sprinkled in
After: Pretty much just Prince everyday. The only time I may listen to anything else is when I go to the gym I will listen to some hip hop.

it's perhaps the best time to listen to prince, his stuff is out into the wide world. in my case i just have been kinda, wouldn't say still in mourning, but definitely down in the dumps over him and Ali. two of my biggest heroes so i haven't put a lot of energy into listening to concerts etc..,
