Then I can't remember who made the comments about P's early days with females, the video had Andre, Pepe Willie, JJ, and Terry 2 name a few so I can't remember who said what. I'm not implying that P was hooking up with every girl back then, but then again we've all heard the story of him being kicked out of his Dad's house for being caught with a girl so *shrugs* who knows.

Why is it weird to discuss sex in an appropriate way with children at the right age. It's wrong NOT to discuss sex and try to educate them like my parents didn't. I my father couldn't even say the word much less discuss the subject. :lol:Kids need to learn something besides "masturbation will make you go blind." Krystalkisses said: Hi Nurse! You have to remember the historical context Prince started his career in...sex is so in your face now, is oversaturated and the cultural atmospehere back then was generally more conservative. So Prince really did get so much attention for his outragous antics and his sexual persona. I think he was very smart and knew how much attention this would garner. In additon though, I think he was just someone with a naturally high sex drive, was romantic, and loved women/femninity so he drew on a natural part of himself and that was why it came across as so authentic and not contrived, to the fans because it was all a part of him. However, too much of a good thing and any kind of excess can be soul depleating and among other life trageties he endured and his friendship with Larry Graham really came at a time when he needed more balance to maybe to come back to a simpiler, more wholesome lifestyle....you can only party so much, have so many women, stuff like that...maybe as he grew older and matured that stuff just didn't nourish his soul so he was looking for something else and I believe became very much commited to his Bible Studies becasue he felt like he was going down the wrong path in life and felt his religion was a way to reign himself in. Possibly he gave him the structure he needed at the time. In his last Rolling Stone interview he said he had been celibate for a while after his second marriage. Years ago I would have rolled my eyes at that just based on what I remember of our man Prince, but he has seemed different the last few years and I don't think it was an impossibility that he really was celebate. Maybe his idea of celebacy was not having actual sex but maybe included "sex play" with women but just no actual penetration. I don't know. But I DID get the feeling that he was saving himself for some kind of special woman, a soulmate that he was looking for....someone who he had not met yet but in his gut he KNEW was out there just based on some of his songs like "Somewhere here on earth". [Edited 7/15/16 20:39pm] ---- I doubt he was celibate since his last mariage probaly just the last few years and maybe not that since he seemed to be after Andy Allow. |

No, I was not implying Prince was showing gay tendencies. Prince admits as a Gemini he had many sides. Prince was very young when his mom remarried so I was implying he may have been showing his "many sides" and it may have worried his mom. I dont think any religious mom back in the 1960's would give her son a Playboy and other erotic photos at such a young age. Maybe a dad would but never a mom. So it sounded strange to me.
“The androgynous thing,” Rock said to Prince. “Was that an act, or were you searching for your sexual identity?’ “That’s a good question,” Prince said, his speaking voice an octave lower than you expected it to be, his mouth curling into a wry smile—you could sense him, for once, thinking on his feet, formulating his words carefully. “I don’t suppose I was searching, really,” he replied. “I think I was just . . . being who I was. Being the true Gemini that I am. And there’s um, there’s many sides in that as well.” Finally, with a laugh: “And there was a little acting going on, too.” |

ya, when i was in my twenties, if someone on the tv brought up masturbation when my ma was in the room, i'd make an excuse to leave the room. i never, ever wanted my parents talking to me about any of that when i was young. i know that lots of women carry anger because no one told them about menstruation and periods, my ma was like that, but i'm glad the schools started teaching the shit, parents ,normal parents, don't want to discuss that shit with their kids. |

ya, i do know about the story of p having a girl in his room of course. i think the docu you are referring to mentioned that prince started getting women showing up at his house after his record deal. not far fetched. prince was an outsider from the get go, probably didn't have the nicest clothes, was basically on his own. he was shy too, i really don't think that was an act. i tend to think he wasn't a ladies man until his career was well underway. most of those guys aren't. Elvis wasn't really popular with the girls in hs either. |

We were told the basics as very small children. That used to cause some reactions (in the parents) as we educated the other kids.
The kids whose parents said nothing soon made up for their late start and they didn't spare us any details of all the possibilities. We certainly didn't need the weird sex education we had at school - but maybe some kids did. I wasn't having my parents starting that discussion when I was heading towards my teens either - no thank you. I would rather have had the ground swallow me up. Awkward! And, what did they think they could tell me by then?
As for P - I had the impression that he thought that what his mother did was a bit too much. He mentioned it a few times. If it had been done appropriately he would be unlikely to keep mentioning it. |

During the Chris Rock interview Prince said the following:
“Once my mother remarried,” he explained to Rock, “it was during the time period in my life where she had to teach me about the birds and the bees. And I’ve never asked her about this, but I think there was some sort of plan to initiate me heavy and quick. I was given Playboy magazine, and there was erotic literature laying around. It was very easily picked up. It was pretty heavy at the time. I think it really affected my sexualty a great deal.”
Why didnt Chris Rock follow up on that answer? Why was his Mother giving him Playboys at an early age? Did she think Prince was showing too much of a feminine side so she wanted to introduce him to porn to "man him up"?
He actually told a completely different story later that refutes this entirely.
Come to think of it, I do remember a contradictory story where he later said he "found" these magazines, implying they were hidden from him. |

But he also stated that as a gemini, he had this female and male part of him as well, so it wasn't all an act. Like most people who grow up and mature (hopefully), their outlook in life changes. Like in the interview with Arsenio Hall, he says "there are many things I don't do anymore and some things I still do." He just grew up and I think his religion may have made him a bit more conservative, but he seemed to be heading that path regardless.
How could I forget the Gemini aspects of it My son is one and yes they do have two very different sides Never knew he told Chris Rock that I think that one might still even be on youtube . |

Same here. I agree sex ed can't be left up 2 schools, what I was agreeing with Pete on PurpleThunder is it's weird AF 2 talk 2 Ur kids about masterbation and such. Mothers need 2 talk 2 Daughters as Fathers talk 2 Sons about sex is the ideal.
Some1 said they recall a story about P finding hidden erotic literature of his Moms and I recall that same story. P himself said he used to find dirty books of his Mom's that she hid and he would read them. |
