Art Official Age HNR Part 1 3121 I really want to like Lotusflow3r but I just don't. Gotta play that one again. Just been going over the gems again lately.

It's so hard to rank... None of them were great in my honest opinion. Alot average, and below average...
The most consitant as an overall album is probably 3121, but being said, that doesn't mean it's great.
Personally my favorite songs in the last 10 years from from 20TEN with STICKY LIKE GLUE, FUTURE SOUL SONG and from HITnRUN PHASE ONE with 1000 X's & O's & HARDROCKLOVER

LotusFlower and HNR 2 are excellent records ; i will add PlectrumElectrum to the list, because, despite the lack of cohesiveness (in my opinion, 'Tic Tac Toe' should have been on AOA) of the whole thing, it contains excellent songs, and a very good instrumental (PlectrumElectrum with Donna Grantis).
Besides, the musicianship on PlectrumElectrum is top notch.
HNR phase 2 is very similar in terms of organic sound to D'angelo 'Black Messiah'. [Edited 7/26/16 4:28am]

20Ten
LotusFlow3r Just recently started listening to The Hit&Run's and both are so good so I could be changing. There are so many albums to listen to all over again. Even "For You" I'm finding is a little gem I overlooked in the past. [Edited 7/26/16 6:38am]

Top three in no particular order (my ranking varies depending on the day):
Lotusflower 3121 Art Official Age We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I cannot just list one, sorry. For me in this order: 1. Art Official Age 2. LotusFlow3r 3. HNR Phase 1 4. 3121 **I feel all his albums in the last 10 years have something hot on each of them. He was always evolving and giving us new parts of him. Simply amazing.**

herb4 said: Probably ArtOfficial Age. Not sure why but it seemed to harken back to that multi-layered Prince sound I've always liked and had a nice flow to it. The coda is just spectacularly huanting with the callback of"Way Back Home" and, for once, the "concept" and the segues don't detract from the music. Yes, I agree with that. The only downside is that there's too many slow songs on it, which makes it a bit monotonous. Lotusflower and 3121 are also good and 20Ten is enjoyable, but yes, AOA seems to be the one album that he really worked on, as opposed to just throwing a few tracks from the vault together.

Don't have to hide if you love it, it's cool. I wouldn't say it's his best in the last ten years, but it's a fine album that doesn't deserve the hate it gets here. If P had put some of the rawness of this album into Art Official Age, he may have made a perfect album. But that was just the kind of guy he was: he was always spreading (or wasting?) his talent over several different projects at the same time. [Edited 7/26/16 14:01pm]

"Lotusflow3r"....I can listen to this album without a skip. Loved it from the beginning. followed by "3121".....there are a few skips in this one.

Thanks! I LOVE some songs on AOA, HNRP1&2, Lotusflow3r, etc. But the album from the last ten years I get the most joy from, the one I seem to listen to the most is PlecElec. Sure, there are songs I skip, but the ones I like I really like, and P sounds like he's having just lots and lots of fun. And Stopthistrain reminds me a lot of VAnity 6 or Glamorous Life-era Sheila E, which is sweet and nostalgic. I miss him so much. "She made me glad to be a man"

I am hearing a lot of love (or at least like)here for 20ten. This is fueling my flames to do an ebay auction for 20ten despite the high cost. Is there any other accessible and legal method of getting it here in the states other than the various auction sites? I haven't found any but it seems some of you have learned a lot more creative ways to get music than I have (I don't own any bootlegs, for example).
