As much as I'm madly in love with "Muse 2 The Pharaoh" I'm wondering why didn't he recorded something different than whats out there like he used to?? I like the song even tho I feel bad about it becoz I feel like I'm hearing Jill Scott/Musiq instead of the "Prince" who influenced their music and who always come up with something raw and twisted. I'm thankful that the liner notes from the Vodoo's LP woke him up and let him get back at using the fender rhodes BUT not 2 the point where he's walking their route.

"NeoSoul" bores me to tears. The sounds and embelishments marvin gaye and others made with their voice was unique to them, and raw. The 18-25 year olds these days trying to mimic this sound are a pathetic imitation of the originals. They need to quit trying to capitalize off the past and come up with something substantial of their own.

The term Neo-Soul is complete bullshit. They really ought to change the term to recycled soul. New artists are trying their damndest to sound like old artists. It is all just soul music. I don't get it.

Much of the "neo soul" is homage to Prince's unique style. Before Dangelo sat down at a Rhodes, we had the Ballad of Dorothy Parker. So if P goes back to the Rhodes to do HIMSELF, he's now mimicking neosoulers? WTF. I mean WTF! I mean WHATDAFUCK???

If there ever was a "trend" for P to participate in seamlessly, it would be neosoul, since he helped to create it gottdamnit.

This just pisses me off to no end.

I'm not offended by it like I am when people claim Kenny G. plays jazz.
