They seem to understand each other quite well. (damn that present tense thing again and I don't want to change it, you all get it annyway so i won"t) It runs deeper than what's being said I believe.

Never was a reason to let somebody know Lover here, lover there, Who cried? Who cared? Foolish pride Never was a good seat at any of this man's shows Until now all I wanted to do is Do do do what I do, and Bang bang bang on the drummer <--- He's talking about Sheila here And love so-and-so But now I've got to let it go (let it go) Lay back and let the vibe just flow I want to just let it go (let it go) Lay back and let my feelings show (let it go) I'm ready for the real Give me something I can feel Ahhhh! Never notice that! Thanks for pointing that out. I always thought it said "bang bang on the drum and love so and so" I see now that it says "drummer". I just finished reading Sheila E's book. They definitely had a sexual relationship, but I guess everyone is talking about having a meaningful relationship. She jokingly said that they funked until the dawn and she also mentioned the infamous proposal. When she did the movie Crush Groove she stated that Prince didn't want her to do the make out scene. So he had to have cared a little for her. She tried to fight it but had to end up doing it. [Edited 7/17/16 0:10am]

Are any of these "confirmed" or are they more or less drawn conclusions? I would love to know if there are certain songs about specific individuals, but how does anyone know for sure? It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

To me all the songs people claim he wrote for other women is just speculation because it's not like he publicly said. He did publicly dedicate Noon Rendezvous to Sheila at his birthday show in 1984. #LoveU4EverMyPrince💜💜💜

Maybe dedication just means he's dedicating it to them at that particular time because those were the songs around at the era they were together? I still haven't been able to confirm one song that he's written for Vanity. Everyone says wonderful Ass but then I heard in that Possessed book it said it was for Anada Lewis. I gave up after that...

I thought so too for a time, but it seems that some people on the Org seems to think a lot of these songs are for Susannah melovin. Due to that book Possessed again. Which is fine if that's the truth, but every time I think I finally know who he wrote a song for, it changes to someone else, lol. I heard too that he said she knows about this one and dedicated "The Beautiful Ones" to Vanity at the Piano Microphone show and Someone said Jesse Johnson mentioned that he's written many songs for Vanity also, so whatever it's confusing, we'll never know who he truly wrote a song for I think... The real question is was Prince sleeping with Sheila and Vanity at the same time? He did know Sheila since the late 70's

I thought that he and Sheila's relationship was also mostly platonic - until I saw the 2007 ALMA awards performance. Their performance begins innocently enough, but after he goes and wraps his arm around her shoulders/ upper torso and sings, you can see a visible chubby as he walks away. He has on a winter white turtle neck, and matching long jacket and pants in this show. I just watched the video and he has a little belly in that turtle neck and it's so cute.

I just watched a video of Sheila's new song Girl Meets Boy that someone added pix of Sheila and P to it...the video referred to by another post is part of the GMB video as well. He's not even that close to her or rubbing up against her and I didnt see what the particular problem mentioned was or at least to me it wan't apparent. They obviously have had some type of relationship over the years and appear comfortable together like old friends at least in this particular video. After her new song dropped, she has said during interviews she is not going to say anything more about the relationship and that if one wanted to know about it, they'd have to buy the book. I have had the impression that she continued to carry the torch over the years...him not so much. Perhaps because they maintained a friendship for many years, he didnt find it necessary to write songs about her. She did seem a constant in his life.
