When it gets rereleased, I hope the flap that folds around the open end of the gatefold is sturdier. It tended to fall off after awhile.

According to Amazon, most of the post-SOTT releases (Lovesexy, Batman, GB, D&P, O{-> and Come ) are all set for vinyl release 2/24/17. I can't help but think the estate proceedings may have something to do with it.

Wondering then, is "ATWIAD" on schedule to be released on 9-6-16? I just pre-ordered from Barnes & Noble and it still lists that date as tgher release date...

So far there is For You, Prince and Parade reissued in 2016... What happened to ATWIAD reissue? SOTT was meant be to out today... I have neither of the first three FFS!

Every great album was recorded analog. That is TAPE for all you hipsters. Tapes have their own special compressed sound. When y'all complain about SOTT sounding bad on CD .. I still listen to it on cassette and it sounds great. Don't be dissin on cassettes. Cassettes are the bomb.

There are lots of cheap tapes out there. They don't hold up as well. I have cassettes from 25 years ago that are still top notch. Prince sounds best on cassette. Ever hear the black album all cleaned up ... lost something didn't it? Prince be puttin it all on cassette and driving round in his car. Nothing sounded as good after he switched to digital. Lost all its life. FACT

I don't have the original release to compare it to... just the original CD and Foefur's Expanded version... and this version sounds CLEAN. FULL. The reissues so far have had a beautiful tone to them. But I do agree the vocals may have been moved up in the mix from what I'd hear on the CD... a tad.

Ok, I've compared 2 songs: Mountains (because I've always thought that song had the worst sound quality on the album) and Do You Lie? Mountains didn't really seem much different (maybe a bit clearer) but with Do You Lie? the difference was pretty obvious.... I like the original mastering better. Just listen to the female backing vocals and musical flourishes underneath the mix. On the original they seem to have more of a 3D feel and a better soundstage. On the reissue they aren't as prominent. They seem more buried. It's weird, since this isn't a remix. Just goes to show how much mastering can affect things. [Edited 8/23/16 14:12pm]

SOTT was pushed to October. The post-SOTT releases were set for February on the same date . . . according to Amazon.

I have an older PR LP with purple vinyl (sadly, my original 1984 copy and poster were damaged years ago). Does anyone know if the "new" PR LP include the poster from the "When Doves Cry" video shoot? My "new" copy of Controversy that I received a few months ago included the actual poster just like the first release (i.e., the shot of Prince in the shower).

it was reissued in 20011 if i recall, and does not come with the poster.

Just to be clear, none of the releases this year or upcoming have been (or have been said to be) 180 gram releases. The four titles that were put out in 2009 & 2011 were 180 gram pressings, but nothing since then has been.
