The Prince reissue came out months ago (in May, I think) and is currently in stock at Amazon (US) at the ridiculoistly low price of $11.12

Ok, I've compared 2 songs: Mountains (because I've always thought that song had the worst sound quality on the album) and Do You Lie? Mountains didn't really seem much different (maybe a bit clearer) but with Do You Lie? the difference was pretty obvious.... I like the original mastering better. Just listen to the female backing vocals and musical flourishes underneath the mix. On the original they seem to have more of a 3D feel and a better soundstage. On the reissue they aren't as prominent. They seem more buried. It's weird, since this isn't a remix. Just goes to show how much mastering can affect things. [Edited 8/23/16 14:12pm]

Just got an e-mail that my pre-order of Diamonds & Pearls has been delayed indefinitely. Wonder why this one may not be released, and what that bodes for and Come?

BUT I will say Prince's vocals seem to be a bit clearer on the reissue/remaster.... so I still think I like the original more, but it just depends on what kind of listener you are. I like soundstage at times more than clarity.

Who did you pre-order it from? I went with Barnes & Noble because I couldn't find a listing on Amazon. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Taking Parade for a spin. Dead quiet vinyl. So far, it sounds pretty darn great. The first four tracks sound a bit better and considering Parade is one of the best sounding albums already that is saying something. Not as impressed with Girls & Boys so far. I am really looking forward to Sign coming out.

Wondering then, is "ATWIAD" on schedule to be released on 9-6-16? I just pre-ordered from Barnes & Noble and it still lists that date as tgher release date...

So far there is For You, Prince and Parade reissued in 2016... What happened to ATWIAD reissue? SOTT was meant be to out today... I have neither of the first three FFS!

I don't have the original release to compare it to... just the original CD and Foefur's Expanded version... and this version sounds CLEAN. FULL. The reissues so far have had a beautiful tone to them. But I do agree the vocals may have been moved up in the mix from what I'd hear on the CD... a tad. I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore...

kdavis said: It'll be curious to watch what happens with these releases. I'm not that concerened about ATWIAD at this point, as the same thing has happened to both the For You and Prince releases in this vinyl reissue campaign already - as they approached the listed release date, the dates ahve changed, status changed to 'unavailable'. Amazon listings appaeared and disappeared... they've been pretty chaotic. But, the two others DID show up on racks as expected. Hopefully the same will hold true for the rest!
Part of me hopes that IF this has been pulled from release, it might indicate that WB is working with the estate - which has been authorized to generate revenue - to, perhaps, move forward with a proper reissue campaign of his catalog. I'm curious as well. I noticed Amazon removed The Black Album 180 vinyl re-release altogether. I have purchased 9 so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that WB plays nice with Prince's estate. (Side Note: The words "Prince's estate" were difficult to type. It's all still surreal to me.) "Everybody's looking 4 the answers. How the story started and how it will end. CURRENTLY AT #6 ON THE BILLBOARD VINYL SELLER CHARTS I have an older PR LP with purple vinyl (sadly, my original 1984 copy and poster were damaged years ago). Does anyone know if the "new" PR LP include the poster from the "When Doves Cry" video shoot? My "new" copy of Controversy that I received a few months ago included the actual poster just like the first release (i.e., the shot of Prince in the shower). "Everybody's looking 4 the answers. How the story started and how it will end. What's the use in half a story..." 0(+>

it was reissued in 20011 if i recall, and does not come with the poster.

Just to be clear, none of the releases this year or upcoming have been (or have been said to be) 180 gram releases. The four titles that were put out in 2009 & 2011 were 180 gram pressings, but nothing since then has been.
