While I am well aware of that, I will admit that the unexpected sight of them near the cash register at an unexpected retailer in a box with his logo on it kind of made me you know...happy...just as I was getting pissed at the customer in front of me for waiting until being waited on to download the Walgreens app for the coupons that she needed. Wanted to see if anyone else saw a similar sight. Thanks for the info, though. [Edited 7/13/16 17:12pm]

Most of the Walgreens I go to have cd's. Not very many but they do show up. And I vaguely remember seeing Prince cds there. I think Purple Rain was the only one available at the time, though.

Wow... do your research people....the last time he officially filled his meds was at walgreens NO one is announcing what drug they filled. Provide the link please.....I felt it was in poor taste, my opinion. His music at the checkout is placed next to the Nat Enquire...hits a sad place for me. THe comment re go back to bed and come back tomorrow???? Why would you make it into a bully hate forum. walgreens is doing a great job of marketing that's what they do ..turn the wheels. And of course ...it's all good in that sense,
another human will listen to his music and find joy. Next week it will be super sour patch kids I pick purple.

That's fucked up. Even if all that has been rumoured isn't true they should be staying clear! Someone's gonna get a talking to at that branch you would hope. Love you all Purple Family!

It's not just that Walgreens! I live in Florida and the Walgreens a block from my office is selling 1999, Purple Rain, and every magazine that did a tribute issue on him. I was blown away when I first went into there after his death and how many months later they are still selling it all. It's like they keep reordering the stuff to sell too!!!

I got one of my LP copies of Purple Rain at a Perry Drugs way back in 1984. They became Rite-Aid later on.

There are often CDs at our local drugstores, but not many. Usually it's the current red-hot artist's newest CD, like Adele or Taylor Swift.

I live in Florida too. Had to go to Walgreen's to pick up RX tonight. Long wait @ the Pharmacy.
But when I checked out @ the front with some ice cream, I saw the 1999 CD for $9.99 above the candy bars. Kinda odd. That was it. Sitting between some candy!
& my thoughts immediately went to: "I wonder what the org would think". Now I know! lol

Guess I'd better look for Prince next time I'm in Walgreen's. I noticed Safeway playing Prince quite a lot recently. lol
