Court records scheduled to be unsealed July 11th - overdue? . I thought we'd get news stories about the unsealing of certain court records. Total silence.
All I can think of is that the media is too busy with the tragic Twin Cities events to cover this right now. . Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

. It's in today's news. There are "work documents" from attorneys, related to his divorce from Mani. One of the earlier articles mentioned Canada (which would be property-related due to the Toronto home they lived in).

This is what I was hoping someone would come up with. I'm glad they finally thought to look into former attorneys. I would have thought that knowing that no will has been found that any former attorney would have at least privately contacted the court so their client's estate would be dealt with effectively. Sheesh!

. They can't. It's called attorney-client privilege.
That's why the court had to order that it be shared with Bremer Trust (who has been going through "thousands" of boxes of paperwork in four locations). There was a hint mentioned a few weeks ago that something referred to the preparation of a will/trust. This must link back to that. N , Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

N , I hope it turns out that he prepared something,.. given some directives in the unfortunate event that something happened to to him. I still can't wrap my head around there not being a will or trust of some sort. "Pussycat, pussycat, wherefore art thou, puppy?"

It they prepared a will the attorneys would NOT need a waiver of attorney/client privilege. If there were directives from Prince regarding his estate, this would not matter because it is NOT a will, and the court would not consider his directives. There is something else going on that the former attorneys wanted a waiver of attorney/cleint privilege from Bremer Trust. The Judge found the former attorneys for Prince might "possess confidential information potentially relevant to the DETERMINATION OF THE APPROPRIATE BENEFICIARIES of Decedent's estate and other matters." The former attorneys have documents that relate to a child(ren) of Prince. Most likely a Trust Agreement with confidentially clauses. This is why they needed Bremer Trust to get approval by the Judge that would allow them, as Prince's representative, to sign a waiver of attorney/client privilege. DONT SHOOT!

Maybe there were people he wanted taken care of that aren't kids of his. Maybe he was taking care of relatives, friends, chaties, etc. Maybe he wanted certain people in charge of his music.

Why doesnt anyone want to accept the fact that Prince had a child(ren)? He said he would hide them from the world and he did.

if he had a child/children and was able to protect them from the vultures that would be awesome! It would make me very happy for him actually, but it would be one heck of an act of magic for him to have pulled off.

Would the authorities have contacted Ian Halpern, as he seems pretty sure it (Prince's will) is in Canada.

From what we've read and heard over the years, Prince went through lawyers like water...I'd be like, bump it, subpoena all of them. He was private, yes, but he couldn't go long without handling or at least talking about legal matters. Welcome home class. We've come a long way. - RIP Prince

An attorney would have a DUTY to come forward with a will. An attorney could lose their license for NOT coming forward. No one has come forward. There is NO will.

Even in a safety deposit box, for it to b a legal will, there would have been someone else to have witnessed, notarized and/or prepared it....We would have heard from that/those person(s)...Any NDA connected with that knowledge would b null n void now(i assume)... Just a feeling that there is an off-spring out there, now likely an adult or youth. Consider how he tried to hide his legal children--Prince's name does not appear on his son's birth certificate--according to what has been said on this forum. Just the mother's name. And her maiden name, not her legal married name.
If anyone could hide a child, Prince would be able to do so. Many, many people are surprised to learn Prince was ever married, moreso that he was married twice. They had no idea about his personal life at all--few of us did. People of all ages, his generation, younger and older. He kept a remarkable low profile. It seems possible he could have hid any children--cared for them but understood the risk he'd place them at if he was visible in their lives. Same with his siblings. He pulled them in until it didn't work but he never stopped caring for them financially if he could. Medical bills, housing, jobs, etc.
Question, if there is a trust for an off-spring, could the terms of the trust limit the off-spring's access to any other part of the estate? If it does, will the courts need to disclose their identity to the off-spring or the public?

Yes, the terms of a Trust Agreement can prohibit a child from making any claims against the estate. The Trust is a separate instrument and would not become part of the probate case unless additional financing of the Trust comes from Estate assets (it can become very convulated). If there is a Trust Agreement DNA was completed prior to P's passing, and testing would not need to be completed again.

Prince also kept quiet about his baby's (with Mayte) death for quite some time. He was a master of secrets, mystery and simply valued his privacy. Now, I don't what this law firm Henson & Efrom is in possession of, but I don't discount anythin. Possibly provisions for child(ren), charities, church, etc. Anything is possible.
I also believe this new revelation did not just spring up Oct 6 (filing date) as Mailaccount63 pointed out. Things go on behind the scene before it's made public. Also, I keep remembering Kevin Frazier of ET stating on Dr. Drew's show that "a source told him the family gave the Judge two names of possible children." This may not be true...we shall see. So the ball has been rolling and continues to roll and I am still cluthing my pearls (looking at you ISaidLifeIsAGame ) and trying not to lose my lunch.
