That's the only one, as far as I know. But it's billed as "Extended version," so that's why I mentioned it.

Nope - save yourself the trouble. There are live rehearsal versions (bootlegs) but, to my knowledge, only one studio recording.

Thank you nonames for starting this thread I've been wanting to compile a list since I was only aware of a few. Can't wait to search for these tonight

The rules are made to be broken, particularly when you're talking about Prince's music! I love the 12 minute the dance electric, it's as good as anything he ever recorded.

i really hope this is on the first posthumous studio release - such a legendary track. We need this in pristine quality + Do Urself a Favour

Yeah I would love to see a pristine version of Do Urself A Favour surface at some point, that would definitely be one of my holy grails as far as unreleased tracks go, I love Prince's take on that song so much. Like with The Dance Electric I guess you could also consider it an extended version of a released song as well given that Jesse's version of the track is heavily based on Prince's. Incidentally there's also a great rare extended version of Jesse's Do Yourself A Favour that has a great MPLS funk intro and is worth hunting down.

I wasn't aware either. I just heard the extended "Girl" for the first time a few days ago That was quickly synced to my ipod

I love most of them, but to me his ultimate extended version is Eye Wish U Heaven. The second half is bliss.

Mountains is the best of them, the extended version of IW4U does nothing for me, i'd rather listen the original version.

I gotta say, Prince extended versions are where it's at, particularly the stuff during his prime. I used to think that he just took the original song and went off on musical tangents to see where he could take it, but now I wonder if it was actually the other way around. I'm guessing that so many songs released to the public by Prince are just snippets of the jam sessions and musical ideas that he had relating to those songs, and that the extended versions give us some insight into that process.

Not sure if I saw Kiss up there, and did anyone mention Paisley Park? Both great!

There's one extended version that came out after I had kind of given up hope for the great remixes of the past, and that was Space (Universal Love Remix). I really like that one!

I had no idea there was an extended version of Laydown!! I just listened to a low quality version of it on someone's facebook page...not finding anything about an official version, but I do see it on the Blast from the Past 2.0 from Eye Records. Is that the definitive version?

I don't know anything about an extended version of Kiss (other than the released version).
