Can anyone help me identify this song?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsBWfhYV82U

.

The link above is the MuchMoreMusic interview footage P did back in 2004.

Can anyone help me identify the song that's being played at the 41minute mark?

I know I heard this one before, but can't recall the exact title of this jam. Anybody?

That´s difficult because it´s only a few seconds long. I would guess it´s Miss You by the Rolling Stones. He played that song during that aftershow, and he also chewed gum while playing it.

But...I would have to listen to the whole Camden 1988 aftershow to be able to answer your question.

Just look for the Camden aftershow (London 1988, Lovesexy tour) and you may find an answer to your question.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Here's the set list for that show:

http://princevault.com/in...ly_1988-am

Happy Birthday To You (with Cat)

Forever In My Life

Strange Relationship

Just My Imagination (with Mica Paris)

Colonel Boogie March (piano)

Under The Cherry Moon (piano)

Six (with Dead On It/Housquake)
Miss You (with Ron Wood)

I'll Take You There (with Mavis Staples)

Chain of Fools (with Mavis Staples)

Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic (with Mica Paris)

With the BPM, you could probably narrow it down to "Six" as a strong possibility (or not). He often played on that riff for a while, especially at Paisley Park with Miles Davis, breaking it down, then bringing in the horn hook again. The other songs don't quite match the beat timing, necessarily to me.

Right in that clip, Miles Davis says, "Prince don't hear Ravel when he makes love to his woman. He hears drums and sh*t."

Does this refer to Maurice Ravel who wrote the classical piece "Bolero"?

Is this to imply that prince doesn't hear whimpy stuff when he makes love...only the bada-- sound of rock music?

Ravel's "Bolero", which Prince actually learned about from the film 10.

Maybe. This could fit too.
When I googled it, I came up with "Ravel".
I could look at more Google responses.

Anyway I think I get what he was saying.

Along with everybody else. lol

Miles is definitely talking about Ravel. "Bolero" is often considered one of the most...er... "sensual" pieces of music, and it has drums and shit. But it's no "Erotic City."

Just happened across this video from the Lovesexy Tour. It has just a few more moments of that song on it. I do think it was a stones song; he did others that might at the Camden after show.
It's a great video all in all anyway - and has more moments of my favorite rendition of Prince's "The Ladder".
