Nah, not lust filled. That's such an overgeneralization. I did learn from Prince, however that eroticism and spirituality are not mutually exclusive. One can be hot and holy at the same time.

Don't most people generally appreciate sex? We also happen to appreciate Prince & his many talents as well! "Pussycat, pussycat, wherefore art thou, puppy?"

I would be like... "Really? Have you ever heard his song The Cross? I play it on my way to church on Sunday's"...
Not that someone can't be lust filled and all those things and still go to church, but still... Lol. The Cross and many of his songs shows the other side of the coin. Prince is so Not one dimensional... [Edited 7/8/16 16:44pm]

It all depends on what you call lust really. I mean look at The Song of Songs in the Bible... Life Matters

For me, it's as Prince once said, "This ain't about the body. It's about the mind." But don't get it twisted, the body was all that and then some! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

As funny as that is I can honestly say it was about the sound. Heard him before I saw him. But damn those eyes.

since you asked, i don't. moreover, i never actually met prince. plus, i've never been inclined to hurl myself pussy first toward celebs i don't know. maybe it's just me Exactly! Every portion of my life is somehow attached to one of his songs. He was the soundtrack to my life, starting with my becoming a young adult. Coincidentally, that was the beginning of his career so I sorta felt like we grew up together although he's a few years older. For years I've tried to explain to my loved ones that, although I've seen him many times in concert (including being very close to the stage many times), I've never had a desire to meet him in person. I think because I was always satisfied with observing P in articles, interviews, award shows, performances. I'm not a musician or someone looking for anything from him like assistance in a career, or looking for money or anything tangible from him. Over the years, I've gotten plenty of hope, enjoyment, encouragement, inspiration and joy from him (even when some of his decisions made me roll my eyes or wanna bop him upside the back of his head) and he never even knew, but I think he knows about all that now due to all the the posthumous love pouring out from all of his true admirers. I'm pretty far from being religious, but I think he knows. I think that, after meeting other celebrities in passing over the years and being disappointed sometimes by them, I never wanted to take the chance that he would be different in real life than what I had discerned from my own personal observation. He was very flawed and multilayered to me, but exquisite nonetheless. That taught me that my flaws were exquisite, too. I truly miss him. [Edited 7/8/16 22:31pm]

i would agree maybe five or ten years ago but now that i've put on 45 pounds or so, i think its fucked up my being "lust filled" so now I'm more like "glutton filled" so I guess I should be a fan of meatloaf or something.

Prince was the best, it's that simple, he was the best of his era and maybe every era of american pop music. I chose the best to follow. I'm a straight man who, like prince, for whatever reason people always thought i was gay. Probably because i've never been the typical macho pig. I just love everything about prince, every facet was given attention, whether it was production, performance, wardrobe, makeup, image/mythmaking. Everything he did, he did with the best of them and he was more prolific than anyone I know of. they mention zappa but zappa didn't have a million albums locked away in a vault. Prince was one of a kind and the world ain't the same without him. I'm a musician because of him.

shit i never went that far but i will say i believe our artists are closer than we are to whatever we think of as god or the spirit world along with many other things. Prince was a prophet.

Dude is definitely sexy, no doubt about it, but lust? I certainly wouldn't go that far. I'd say that he showed how it was possible to feel confident about one's own sexuality and yet remain faithful to God. Of course many then don't believe that he actually did, but I do. We all err, if nothing else then in our thoughts, but I believe him. And I love that he showed that Christians can be funky and sizzling hot, too. He just makes me happy knowing that there are other Christians out there with a mindset like my own. (And I know that I am faithful, so that's probably why I have no problem believing him.) Nothing wrong or sinful about sex in the right context, not in the Bible, it is a beautiful gift from God. And nothing wrong with partying and having a good time. I think he made love-making sound like an artform that we should respect, and that is not only about "lust". It's so much more than that. So no. Not "lust-filled". That's really missing the point he was making with regard to sex IMHO.
