Tidal-Store Downloads Anyone else having issues? I cannot complete the purchase transaction on studio albums such as RAVE, Crystal Ball, and Chaos and Disorder.
I am trying to get in lossless as an audiophile. |

Yesterday I bought and downloaded the "Rave In2" FLACs without issue. I will warn you that none of these downloads seem to be remastered. Maybe some are, but I really don't think so.
Here's my experience with the Tidal FLACs that I've purchased so far:
- Prince (s/t) - Low volume throughout. Sounds flat. Does not seem to be remastered.
- 1999 - Uneven volumes. Segue between 1999 and LRC is not the album version. Does not seem to be remastered.
- Around the World in a Day - Thin sound like the LP. Does not seem to be remastered.
- Lovesexy - Downloads as a single track, like the original CDs. Flat sound. Does not seem to be remastered.
- Batman - Not remastered at all. Waveforms are IDENTICAL to the CD! Very thin sound.
- Diamonds & Pearls - Sounds great, but so did the original CD. Not sure if remastered or not.
- The Love Symbol Album - Sounds great, but so did the original CD. Not sure if remastered or not.
- Emancipation - Sounds great, but so did the original CD. Not sure if remastered or not.
- Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic - Clipped waveforms! Bad!!!!!! Does not seem to be remastered.
So by all means buy them if you want to fill in any gaps in your catalog, but don't expect audiophile quality.

Nothing of Prince's music on Tidal is remastered. Why would you assume it had been? |
