It had to be in his voice

I always got a kick out when I saw the response his voice got sometimes some examples are

Purple rain
When he told apples give me that, that on your boot, ands she does it right away then says wait as if to say what just happen ?

Sexy mf video
You you and you lets go, and the women started to move to the car

The one
When he says stand right here, right here, and Mayte gets up and starts belly dancing

New girl
When Jessie said she was full, then he points to the pancakes and she says ok and starts eating again (someone cracked me up so bad saying , when prince tells you to eat the pancakes, you eat the pancakes!)

When he says put this on ( the dress) and for a sec she declines then he says dont argue with me, then she says ok and puts it on

Controlling imp in some ways, yet in some ways it pulls you in , yeah it got to be the voice, oh maybe I just like a man with command in his voice lol

I remember someone joked and said prince could read the phone book and I think it was amazing
On a side note I loved his speaking voice and loved the rare times it showed up in his songs

I agree that his voice & entire presence was captivating, I'd certainly do whatever he asked love BUT I'm pretty sure all the examples you listed are scripted moments, so they only count so much razz can't be sure about The One video, haven't seen it in ages.
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

You know how when you're speaking or singing your voice sounds more re...nd deeper while it's happening then it does to other people or when it's being recorded? He must have sounded even more amazing to himself when he was talking.

Nice voice. I liked the guy - but boy is it annoying when the women do what he says fryingpan

At least with PR you know the real Denise and his fantasy are very different. You get the impression Mayte could be far too obedient.

I define it as not healthy or rewarding for the poor woman. It seemed like she was put on a pedestal from which there was bound to be some almighty fall - how long could she live in his shadow? She seems a bit messed up by it all. To be pregnant with the **** going on that she had to deal with and not even to be "allowed" to contact darling dictator says it all really.

Still, if she got her kicks out of being bossed around that is up to her, she was a grown woman (just about). It just really irks me to see women putting up with it. I am not that kind of person and I just don't get it. I have no issues if it is an occasional bit of fun and there is really mutual respect and give and take there but to live with that all day every day - well, I couldn't imagine it for a second to be honest but each to their own.

She seems a bit messed up by it all. To be pregnant with the **** going on that she had to deal with and not even to be "allowed" to contact darling dictator or to eat what she liked (and I am all for vegan diets - but by choice) says it all really.

I find it interesting that people think they know all the ins & outs of their relationship, but really no one absolutely knows except them. Maybe there were lessons to be learned by both of them in that dynamic, just something they "had to" go through. Who knows?! It's just so fucking invasive, passing all this judgement on their relationship. That's an aspect of the fans I've never been comfortable with - getting all up in his business, spreading what they think they know. Nothing against you personally, I just find it odd. shrug

People can say whatever they want, prince rarely commented on things said about him, especially negative ,prince was human so I bet he had faults , it's the way you view things, yes maybe he was controlling , but I don't like to sign to things I don't know and have no desire to pick at the relationship, because its none of my business, the way he's exes been acting tells me that no matter what faults he had, they clearly enjoyed something about their time with him, that's where I leave it

I shouldn't have mentioned the food as that is not from their mouths - but the phone call comment was from Mayte and I went through the loss of a baby boy and a miscarriage within a year of her events and I know the person who got me pregnant would have been readilly available to talk to if there were any health issues going on or not seen for dust. The way she talked about their relationship backed up the way they seemed to behave (and I don't want to write more because I can't remember the exact words, only the feeling I had about it).

It just felt like feeding his ego was the last thing that would be good for either of them but who knows, it worked for a time. He obviously loved her and she clearly feels the first few years were wonderful if bizarre. It seemed that no matter what kind of woman he dated/married he could not get past the initial infatuation stage nor stop looking elsewhere.

And as for invasive of their relationship part, P got his kicks portraying a guy that bossed women around. He put it out there and Mayte talked about their relationship in that light so it is hardly invading their privacy to notice. Some people noticed and liked it, I noticed and thought it repulsive. Each to their own. I like Mayte though and I know what she went through with her babies. She just doesn't seem emotionally very strong and I can't help but think that being pulled into all that at 16 was too young. She didn't have time to find herself.

Oh, that voice.. Although I'd have been tempted to disobey just to hear him become all stern with me. And then laugh when he found out. LOL His laugh is so sweet.

I really want a recording of him reading from the Bible. That would be so cool. He did so in the softest voice from what I've heard.

I went through it as well. Can't even begin to describe the emotional turmoil of losing a child. I hope much of what the nannies wrote were lies because if not, well I just don't have words. I agree about Mayte also. I think she was too emotional. Not in general, but maybe too emotional for P to deal with. Who know what he was thinking. I give any woman who was able to stay married to him for 2 or 3 years credit.

Well he did seem to complicate his life relationship wise and he included all his women in his work so it wasn't even hidden. The thread is also about the way he spoke to women.

And I am not judging Mayte. She was put on a rollercoaster at 16 years old and then went through the worst kind of hell. I am amazed she coped as well as she did at the time.

Ehh, seemed it was originally about how people respond to his voice, but the examples given were women shrug As for this clip, this isn't the first time P corrected someone in his band/on his stage lol I'm not even sure that's what's happening here, but I suppose that's the point of posting it smile hammer

No, I think I've seen the clip and he was responding to something else and just looking at his wife for emphasis, but I may be wrong. At least I don't remember it as unpleasant as it comes off in the gif.

Not that I doubt he could be a handful, mind. Very passionate young man.
