New "Tribute Prince" Comic book...

I ordered all 3 and received them today (same comic, different covers).
Does anyone else have it, and if so... what are your thoughts on the pill/drug references made at the end?
I, for one, thought it was very distasteful, and am very disappointed they went that route with something that should have been a touching tribute.
Just my opinion

I would post a pic of these, but I have no idea how to post pictures on this site.
The ones Im talking about just came out. One cover is, supposedly, limited to just 100 copies.

Life of rock superstar Prince celebrated in new comic book

Prince, the innovative, Grammy-winning musician who died of an accidental, self-inflicted overdose of a powerful painkiller in April, is being honored with a comic book about his life.

“Tribute: Prince,” the 24-page comic book by Blue Water Productions, will celebrate the career of the 57-year-old superstar whose music blended jazz, funk, R&B, disco and rock.

“So much has been left unsaid about the passing of legendary music innovator Prince Rogers Nelson,” a spokesman for the company said in a statement.

“Prince, a prolific musician from Minneapolis, started a musical revolution with the hits ’1999,’ ‘Little Red Corvette,’ ‘When Doves Cry,’ ‘Purple Rain,’ ‘Batdance,’ and more, challenging even the ‘King of Pop,’ Michael Jackson, for chart supremacy during the 1980’s.”

The comic book will be released on the singer’s birthday, June 8th.

Prince, who was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park Studios compound in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen, won seven Grammy Awards and an Oscar.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Anoka County, Minnesota said in a death report released on Thursday that the singer died from the highly addictive drug fentanyl, which is used to treat patients with severe pain.

Yep, this is it. I did not like the ending at all. I thought the scene of him pouring pills into his hand, and his remark about his heels was in bad taste.

Got mine last week. Really dig the covers and all the illustrations. The story line is decent following Prince's life into music from a child. His journey as a young artist to working with other musicians and those he wrote songs for and the woman he dated to the popping of pills for pain to his untimely death.

Pretty well done for a new comic book however the writer needs some help. He references Prince lyrics throughout for the dialog that is pretty cheesy. What could have been a cool tribute to an icon comes off a bit shallow.

Overall B-

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I finally got around to ordering this. As a lifetime fan of both Prince & comic books I have to add this one to my collection that already includes the two DC/Piranha Press comics, the Rock & Roll comics one and the Fame one from a couple years ago. Speaking of, I noticed when I ordered that they still have the Fame: Prince comic available at cover prices.
