This. It's called "cash flow".

About the time he was giving away large amounts of money, his property taxes became overdue and almost into foreclosure. A few concerts and he bailed everything out.

PLUS, he obviously liked doing it.

-- He was past due on property taxes that is not foreclosure.

.

Two different things were going on. Foreclosure threat on the Galpin property (the 20-acre plot where the home once stood). ALSO property taxes on all Minnesota properties were not paid in one year and became very delinquent until the big tax bill was paid off.

--- Sorry I come to this board regularly and I remember seeing the link to the Carver County websites. Some chick went to tax office and paid the taxes in full I never remember anything about anything being in foreclosure. You either are in foreclosure or your not. I also remember reading he made public comments about the property taxes being too high and at one time was contesting the assessments. Sounds like he had a dispute lost and had to pay up. He was the largest land owner in Carver County.

"There's a certain part of you that becomes addicted to a live audience." Bob Dylan in 1997. And he is still on the road almost 20 years later. I think this answers your question.

I grew up around professional wrestlers as a kid. When I got to be an adult I started hanging out with some local Nashville musicians. The one thing that I was able to determine between both industries was that even though one is music and the other is entertainment, is a HUGE ADRENALINE rush that is like nothing that cannot be described. The old saying "once it gets in your blood" is very true. They may slow down but the urge to perform, to be in the middle of the organized chaos that comes with putting a show together is just one big thrill ride that never leaves a person as long as they are living.

I'd believe that, not only as a guy who could have been a fighter but also as a musician. Fortunately, my ego was never so big as to let that addiction lead me into any horrid situations. I still love to perform and I still even train but as I say, I never let my ego put me in bad situations. I believe with both fighting and in music, the ego controls the men, not the other way around.

I think that Prince just loved to perform onstage the way he always did back in the day. I doubt he was having money troubles. It's pretty apparent to me that his health was failing.

AMEN! about the egos! LAWD the rookies were usually the worst about having egos. I always enjoyed seeing a seasoned musician or wrestler put a young one in their place(especially when cameras are off and they are away from public scrunity)when they let that ego get ahead of their smarts! Glad you did not let ego get the best of you. I have great respect for those that can do that.
