I knew it was going to happen one day, as it will to all of us. I just didn't know it would happen so soon.

I just knew when it did happen, wherever I was, I was going to drop everything and just drive and blast his music.

So that's what I did.

I kept everything I purchased Prince related, unless I had bought them as gifts obviously. But it was never with the thought that he would not be here, but rather because they were my momentos, things I could look at and remember those special times (not that he wouldn't be here, but that those moments were a sincere and magical part of my life).

No. Since we are close in age I thought we would still have another 20 years together.

Been a fam since going to the uk premier of purple rain my boyfriend worked for WB at that time I was 18. I always felt everytime someone big died in music, phew at least Prince will be ok because he doesnt do drugs or alcohol.
I am still unconvinced on his drug issue.
That said life without Prince truly sucks!

Forever in my life 💜

That's funny but I never thought about him dying. He seemed so healthy and in charge of his life. I figured he would slow down and retire one day, do a few farewell tours. I had hoped to see him one more time in concert.

No, not really.

I must say every now and then when a celebrity died i wondered if it would be any news at all when Prince would die. But that was assuming it would be somewhat further away in time....

I thought he would be around at least as long as I was...(he's 10 years older). However, the last show close to me was Baltimore in 2015. Though not a heavy fan of 3rd Eye I decided to go bc 'you don't know how long people will be around for'. So, we went...And I am glad I did..

The thought did occur to me from time to time, but I NEVER remotely expected it to happen, and as untimely as it did. It STILL crushes me. I still find myself shaking my head, telling myself that it can't be true sad

Yes, but not because of death. I figured he would retire way earlier than I wanted him to.

When he "retired" in 1985, that was when I started looking at whatever Prince music I had as a gift. Any future music would just be more gifts, but the gifts weren't guaranteed.

No. I'm 35 and honestly felt he'd probably outlive me. And I'm HEALTHY. It never crossed my mind. And it's a loss unlike any I've ever experienced... crazy as that sounds.

I used to be afraid of dying long before him and missing out on all the Princely goodness that I'd never get a chance to hear.

Honestly, this is a bit of a dehumanizing thing to do, but I immortalized Prince while he was alive. So, no, I never thought about Prince dying. I've never been so tragically wrong.

I never expected him to be gone so soon. I was looking forward, as well, to take my kids! My oldest daughter just turned 9, so I was thinking of taking her to a concert soon. Now after his death, I've been listening non-stop to all of his stuff and my yougest (just turning 3) is a mega fan of his music. LOL Ask her who her favorite singer is and she will say "Prince". Really wish I could have taken them live to see him in person neutral

And maybe this sounds nieve, but I was kinda hoping that his theory of "not counting birthdays" was going to make him live longer. LOL It sure helped on his looks! lol Plus, he was so health conscious and ate well that I thought for sure he had many years left.

"Put on your boots Alfred...let's go!"
