Ah great, that only leaves Goldnigga from the core albums? And even that's a bit of an outlier.

Very nice, now the official albums are out there!

Just wondering why and how today, who is in control of this?

(if it is Tidal, why not together with the rest at his birthday, and who knows what else they have?)

Great, now I guess TIDAL is the only streaming service to have all of the officially released PRINCE albums, the only one missing is GOLD NIGGA and KAMASUTRA if u count that...

Also if anyone noticed or cares, 1999 THE NEW MASTER is also up, under PRINCE & THE REVOLUTION.

This is what I'm curious about; who is deciding what & when to release even though it's likely P had some agreement with Tidal on further releases

Kamasutra is there. It's under NPG orchestra. I wish they would pool it all under just Prince.

The Revolution members will be mortified that this is attached to them

Even 1-800 new funk is there buried in various artists.

They need to add Goldnigga.

am i the only one here who doesn't like the fact that prince hitched his wagon to jay-z. backwhen he first announced it, literally felt my stomach turn over. the smartest thing prince could/should have was to set up his own streaming service for his old masters and and his vault. by giving them to tidal he has given his music back to the masters so to speak. but he always did half-assed stuff like that. i hoped NPGMC would be exactly that but he fucked that up too. it hurts my heart to think about how he could have effectively utilized to internet to maximize his own profits and the fams access to his work. confused

I had been listening to this album lately and was thinking that it never got the push that it deserved. Much better album than the couple that followed. Sticky Like Glue is a funk classic in my mind.

Very nice that this is available now - since it was never released in the US.

I've been looking at Tidal and can't really figure out if the quality is equal to CDs or not? And do you buy the music as in buy a cd and download it or can you only stream it? Maybe I'm just dense, but it isn't clear to me after looking at the site. smile

20Ten is a great album, I got it from the UK back in 2010. Dunno why folks wouldn't like it, but to each his own. Glad to hear it's available for all of you who didn't get it back then. biggrin

If you buy it, it's a download. And I'm pretty sure it's all lossless, but it should tell you what exactly what format(s) it's available in.

So I just looked - it's available in mp3 and flac (flac being the lossless format). Looks like they charge $9.99 for mp3 and $17.99 for flac for all the albums.

I have faith that Tidal will evolve into an artist owned juggernaut.

yes yes

Prince didn't give away his work to Tidal. He gave Tidal an exclusive license to stream all of his muisc. It may have been more cost effective because It costs a great deal to operate a streaming service. Tidal pays more to the artist and isn't owned by record executives.

Cum swallow the pride and joy...
