Back around '99 or 2000 Jules released a CDR of The Remix Experience. I'm not sure if this is that same mix or something new. Whether or not it is "legit" is another question...

It looks like a sign-up form to be contacted when the track is available?

.

However, Google shows this and the domain for the web authorer, as not to be trusted .

Brother Jules himself has tweeted about this set. I signed up on the site for more info. Jules recently followed me on Twitter, too, so I tweeted at him and asked for details, including an availability date. Will post if I hear anything back.

I signed up too just out of curiosity but will need more info and a secure site before I purchase.

Agree - they're not asking for payment at this time, either.

.

Serpan99 has been tweeting about this, also, and is never into promoting unofficial projects.

Could at least get some circular CD's not seemingly made of cardboard. These look like a small child cut them out using scissors for the first time.

I saw Steven Parke do a Q&A at a Prince fan gathering in Kentucky last night. He mentioned these releases and stated that as far as he knows they are indeed legit and will be released by NPG Records.

It was, I'm just really bad with experience reviews. In brief:

He gave a Q&A that was over 2 hours long. He talked about his experiences working with Prince for over a decade. He discussed the different album cover projects he did, as well as other art projects that he was in charge of at Paisley. He told stories about photo sessions and people he met and anecdotes about Prince the practical joker. He talked about what it was like for Prince to be his friend, his boss and PRINCE. He shared about some of the great music he got to witness Prince perform in the studio and elsewhere and about how hard the bands had to rehearse to take the music live to a level higher than the studio recording.

He is working on his Prince book which is due in the spring and will include photos and art as well as stories and anecdotes. You will probably be able to read much of what he talked about there. He also signed photos, one of which was exclusive to that event and has not / will not be available elsewhere. Unfortunately that wasn't in the budget for me at this time.

He also did a photo clinic earlier in the day which I missed and auctioned off some rare items.

Overall he was very nice, very entertaining and I enjoyed hearing him speak and getting to meet him way more than I expected. I'm one who is into the music first and much less interested in photo shoots and album covers but he surprised me and had way more to say than I expected. I will definitely be buying his book.

Beyond that, fun get together with other hard core fans, sold some records, bought a couple records, heard some great music.... Good times. biggrin cool

Thunderfunk, you should start a new thread with your recap above. You are being too humble - that's an incredible recap and worth sharing here.

please sticky this thread mods.

this will be the first official release by the estate and npg records since prince's passing.

jules posted on his instragram, that this was a project they were working on together during the piano and a microphone tour.

i guess this is the first official release since his death, and many more to come.

I don't know if this release is official or not, but I take anything he says with a grain of salt after this happened...

I am not at home right now, but I think I bought this long time ago, from Brother Jules directly, can|t recall how it was. I think it had a mix and some / or just one / previously unreleased tracks on it. If I remember correctly Pearls before the Swine. Or underneath the cream. Not sure...

But maybe that was something different...

But I remember that I was not totally overblown, it was an ok mix. Just a cd/r

Here are a couple of VERY OLD good threads with a track listing:

.

http://prince.org/msg/7/270277
http://prince.org/msg/9/57506

.

So, I downloaded this megamix this weekend and played it a couple of times.

.

Obvioulsy the tracks are great, as naturally they are Prince, but the megamix is pure RUBBISH!

.

All this guy has done has just strung together a load of clips and occassionally he talks over them!

.

UTTER RUBBISH!

.

Personally I think this release should be STOPPED.

.

This cannot be allowed to be Prince's first postumous release!

.

sad
