I know this may sound ridiculous but I think this song and "Somewhere Here On Earth" were about one specific girl....It may be so sad that Prince left this earth without meeting his soulmate but you know there is always the next life...I guess....but I was a huge fan at the time of Planet Earth...everything is really put into perspective when someone dies....RIP Prince...you will be missed so much by so many people.....

I feel like Mayte was his soul mate. it's just the loss of the children really strained the relationship

I believe if they didn't lose their children things would have turned out differently for him/them. But then again, you never know. I just hope he's at peace with his babies.

Yes, I am so happy he gets to be with his babies now. I loved what Mayte said after she found out he past away. "He's with our son now".

With all do respect, I don't think Mayte was his soulmate. I think he loved her yes, just like he loved a lot of his women in his life, they seemed to compliment whatever era he was in at the time and all the different relationships fufilled a part of him that he needed at that moment I guess. I do believe the losses were very hard on them and was a factor in their divorce. However I don't think Mayte was his soulmate but a true love.

I do think he was very, very happy when he married Mani and I think he loved her very much. But the truest soulmate I think he had was Denise Matthews, the fact that he showed up to her memorial spoke volumes to me as a fan (he didn't show up to Miles Davis' funeral I remember reading, I don't think he was big on funerals) but the fact that he seemed to have a connection to Denise throughout their lives, I think he probably loved her hard. However, even with Denise there was probably something that prevented him from viewing her as is true soulmate.

I think it is all in the lyrics of Future Baby Mama "Heard it said my lovers look alike, Could it be that I was looking 4 U?, They were cool but something wasn't right..."

It makes me feel that HE didn't believe he had met his true soulmate by examination of his lyrics.
