Hop Farm Festival - 5 years ago today!

I just wrote a blog about it. Would love it if you guys read it and let me know your thoughts.

A fantastic day. How many orgers were there? I remember talking to a few - whether they are still active members or not, I'm not sure.

OMG!!

5 years ago - wow!!!

I will definitely be drinking a beer out of my souvenir plastic Hop Farm "pint glass" in memory!

I was there and still recall thinking all day - surely he won't really be playing a few miles down the road from me in Kent

But is was an AMAZING day and a really fantastic, relaxed, performance by Prince, which I watch back often and may also do later today now!

One of my favourite Prince gigs - great weather, great crowd. And he seemed in such a good mood. I wondered if it was cos he had an almost entirely female band and he just liked being surrounded by women.

I went with a friend who wasn't really a fan. Afterwards he said it was one of the best gigs he'd ever seen - that Prince was incredible. He said "I mean, how could he ever have been better than that?"

Read the blog. Great read.

I was there too. Fantastic concert. Last time I saw Prince live.
Was a awesome greatest hits set list. Although I would have preferred a Sampler Set over the LG guest appearance.
The Sampler Set is great!

Great blog Militant, and looking at some of those photos takes me right back. Wonderful day.

Can't believe it was 5 years ago. It was a really great vibe, the crowd was super chilled and Prince seemed like he was really enjoying himself.

First Prince gig I dragged my wife to, and she loved it. I now have a four-year old son who asked me the other day when he could go and see Prince....

I was there we lived in tunbridge wells at the time. I have seen Prince about 15 times including after shows and think it was one of his best gigs ever. I know Davina Mccall through a mutual friend she loves Prince and his proteges. As she said to me imagine Prince in Paddock Wood!! It was as close to home as possible. It will be one night I will never forget!

I thought exactly the same ... he won't show up just a few miles from my house surely? Capped off a great weekend for me. Got dragged to Take That at Wembley the Thursday, Wireless Festival at Hyde Park the Saturday, Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes Bowl the Saturday ... then Hop Farm Sunday.

It was my younger sisters first Prince show and she was blown away. It might be the happiest on stage I ever saw him, he was smiling the whole show. A great setlist of hits to and the crowd were fantastic throughout. We managed to park off site to so was home in 30 minutes (I heard the queues to get off site were horrendous!) Great memories! biggrin

Great blog by the way. I totally get the 'Prince music being there for you' thing ... might be coincedence, might be fate, but his music has come to the fore when I've needed it to as well.

Did Glastonbury last weekend and bumped in to so many fans. Such a shame he never played there, it would have been a Glasto performance for the ages. One of the high points of last weekend was Hot Chip doing a 90 minute DJ set of his classics on the Friday night...couple of thousand fans in a muddy field at half midnight, lasers, glo-sticks, people in fancy dress...brilliant!
