Yup, America was the problem. The Lovesexy cover wasn't ever a threat, assless pants weren't ever a threat either. Prince was just being himself. Even watching the 2016 BET awards, As much as there is love for Prince, the between acts (and more so the audience), shows there's stereotypes and caractures that are conformed to and won't be deviated from.
