Oh for f*** sake not all this again! I wish they would conclude their investigation so all this speculation will end and these trashy mags will have one less horse to beat. The Kornfelds didn't give Prince anything. He was deceased by the time Andrew arrived. Dr S is maintaining a low profile to protect himself from the onslaught of journalists without character or principles. Lots of people are barking up the wrong tree and looking for fault in others. My opinion as someone who works in Healthcare and deals with the pain mgmt/opioid issue every day is that these were all professionals trying to help Prince and doing the best they could for someone with his public profile in the face of an extremely personal health crisis. It's because of this overzealous need to know every dirty little secret that had to in part keep Prince from confronting this sooner. The majority of the responsibility falls on Prince himself as hard as that is to say. If anything the only problem I have for the way this all played out is that given what happened on the plane his people should have respected the gravity of his condition and insisted he be admitted if not in Moline then somewhere else immediately. If that was truly impossible at that time then why in the world was he not sent home from thst hospital with a save shot??!!?? Everyone on opiates should have this available just like people with life threatening allergies carry an epi pen. He just overdosed. I don't get that they didn't give him that piece of insurance. They are the only medical professionals who dropped the ball in this case. That would have also insured another person in PP with him as that would have been necessary for administration of the narcan. The rest of it is bull****.

Even if he was given a Narcan shot/spray to take home, someone besides himself would have had to administer it and its obvious he was alone when he OD'd

Exactly. That would have taken away any argument about being left alone.
It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

It is from TMZ (which I have to say gets a lot of these reports right). I found it. But where was he getting the drugs from over the years? I think they will only focus on who supplied him at the end, or did he get it through an associate off the street.

-// No they did not get everything right. Remember they said he left the hospital in a huff because he could not get a private room. Remember they said he was addicted to Percecets we have not heard anything else about it. Which I knew was bull because I used Percocet and it puts you in your ass. I am going to predict that at one point he had an Rx started abusing it and may have been able to more off the books from Dr. S or some other doctor. If Prince had major trust issues he is not going out into the streets. I will also predict that no one will go to jail for giving the meds even if it was done off the books or just over prescribing. This is going to be hard to prove and I think investigation is quiet. At the end of the Prince may have decided to increase his dosage to keep working and might have found a way to do it no matter.

Percocette most definitely does not put you on your ass if you are a habitual user or abuser...
Many who take it cannot function without it and many who abuse it take 4 or more at a time just to be able to go to work and will work their asses off until it wears off and it's time for more.
I've lived with an abuser and know this to be the truth . I also know others who are the same .. I have a neighbor who cannot go to work unless he has a couple of percs.
If he has none he gets nothing done , if he scores a few percs, his lawn gets done, his truck gets washed etc, etc.
I hired the kid to do some carpenter work for me , he worked his ass off when he had them, if his script was out or low he would tell me he had to come the next week due to not having his meds.

Me either ... Unless there's something big here that we don't know about .
When my ex was in rehab for opiate addiction ( first go round )

They taught us the three Cs
..... Is being the co-dependants , I think they can be applied to those around Prince

Three Cs

I didn't CAUSE it
I can't CURE it
I can't CONTROL it

Sadly, he was responsible for his own opiate dependency /addiction , whatever you want to call it .I do believe that many around him knew more than we are lead to believe , but their hands were tied .You cannot make someone stop using .They are the only ones who can do that .

Jesme1999, thank you for bringing up the 3 C's. I lost a parent to addiction and now Prince is gone.

I am hurting big time, but I believe what you said is so true. All you can do is be there and love a friend or family member affected by any addiction.

Exactly!! Thank you for mentioning the three Cs. It's so true and until you have been there with a loved one who is in this mess you won't understand how difficult it is and really often completely impossible to make a positive difference. Which is the most difficult thing to accept. It just not up to you.

I ask this because if that's supposition, I have felt that maybe they could have and should have given him one due to his always having paparazzi on his back, and I always wanted to know if they were just being a--holes. I also want to know if they explained carefully and verbally to him that the save shot would wipe out his tolerance to further use (did they give him proper instructions upon his release). Prince was not stupid. I wonder why he didn't know the risks. The story his friend told of being there in the hosp that night...it seems he was calm. Also that story shows that he had to fight for his life and come back to us. He must've been very scared, and when people are scared, sometimes they get demanding to get their needs met. So if he was that way about getting a private room, and the people fought him back not understanding his fear or having compassion for him, then shame on them. I only say this because I KNOW how humans can be.

TMZ said he left after a few hours because he could not get a private room. Mrs. Hill said they stayed until 11:00 am the next day and he was not combative or difficult. This makes me think that TMZ and all of the other news outlets using their info are adding things to get clicks. I hope a reputable reporter we do a real story on this.

The most likely possibility is that he left the ER after three hours and WAS put into a private room BUT it was not revealed to anyone for privacy reasons.

In my opinion, that is actually the most unlikely possibility.
He arrived somewhere around 2am and left around 11am. That falls way short of the 24 hours they suggested he stay.
He left because the wouldn't give him a private room.

If you really work in healthcare, you should know that it's illegal for anyone to possess schedule ii controlled substances without a prescription, and it is almost certainly a federal crime for a medical student to be transporting schedule iii substances across state lines.

Yes, it is. I also believe in "No harm, no foul". But that's just my opinion.

Well that is not what the law believes. I still want to know who was going to administer the med Andrew brought.

Got a guy like that around here too. Buzzes around fixing the property when high. When not high and sick, I don't let him anywhere near my apartment. Actually I finally set a polite but firm boundary and haven't seen him around since. Addicts without money will steal anything that isn't nailed down when sick. No judgment here, just stating the facts. Protect yourself.

Andrew was driven to a hotel by one of Prince's "entourage" (most likely, Kirk). Andrew didn't go to PP until shortly before P's body was found the next morning.

There's a "grave condition" but everyone's waiting until the next morning sad

If I recall what Judith Hill said in the NYT's article, they left the hospital 10-ish in the morning and arrived back in Minneapolis by 11 a.m. Minneapolis is about an hour northwest of Moline, Ill. by plane.

Me either ... Unless there's something big here that we don't know about . When my ex was in rehab for opiate addiction ( first go round ) They taught us the three Cs ..... Is being the co-dependants , I think they can be applied to those around Prince Three Cs I didn't CAUSE it I can't CURE it I can't CONTROL it Sadly, he was responsible for his own opiate dependency /addiction , whatever you want to call it .I do believe that many around him knew more than we are lead to believe , but their hands were tied .You cannot make someone stop using .They are the only ones who can do that .

3 C's...so easy to type but so incredibly difficult to do. Especially when it's someone you love. Spent many tormented hours trying to apply this to my life. sad

--- Well what happened to the Percocet story it appears to have vanished. I had gallbladder surgery and had already loss about 15 lbs before the surgery. I weighted 115 and I took Percocets all day the day after the surgery. I was not able to move and by the next day I was constipated so badly projectile vomiting started with dry heaves following. May understanding is that all of these pain meds cause this types of problems over time no matter how much tolerance you have. Your to tolerance just means taking more of them you are going to wrecked at some point. According to everyone who worked with him he was still putting in 100 hours a week. Read the Vibe article he has several projects in the can and was touring. I have my doubts he was as strung these things as the media is making it out to be.

This stuff is powerful shit. No way P could be abusing this stuff on a regular basis and still do everything he was doing (and nobody seemingly noticing). He wasn't a hermit the last few years of his life, he was performing, recording, still giving interviews etc.

This is news to me. Where did you hear about TWO? One - Stulenberg (sp) - I read about. The second can't be Kornfeld because he didn't treat him, but they are in trouble for sending the son to PP.

Kornfeld could still be in trouble for sending his son across state lines with prescription drugs and no licence.

This part is stupid, had his son arrived a day earlier, Prince would most likely still be alive. Why investigage the doctor who did not contribute to his death and had the best chance of preventing it.

Well that is not what the law believes. I still want to know who was going to administer the med Andrew brought. yeahthat Also when did Andrew really first see him if he got in the night before...

Andrew was driven to a hotel by one of Prince's "entourage" (most likely, Kirk). Andrew didn't go to PP until shortly before P's body was found the next morning.

There's a "grave condition" but everyone's waiting until the next morning sad

Yeah...that
Prince is in "grave condition" so everyone WAITS?
For what...to find him like they did. Ugh so upsetting.

Menes

Kirk, though not a doctor will be investigated even more so. He was with P thru all of it, and even introduced him to his physician that fed him a nice dose of fentanyl prescriptions for years. He needed a legal outlet of course. If we don't believe that Kirk knows everything , that would be like saying Michael Jackson's family had no idea he he was fond of prepubescent boys who looked mixed.

How do we know that P was using fentanyl for years? We don't.
