WLOL in Minnesota was THE Prince station! Anyone else remember 99.5 in MPLS/WLOL switching to a "Prince" format around the time of "Graffiti Bridge?"
It was so cool, they would play a Prince or Prince-related song at least once an hour.
It was probably the only place in the world where the song "New Power Generation" was #1 - for 2 weeks in a row!
KMOJ was also pretty cool....
Any other stations out there in the great world ever have a Prince format - while he was still with us?

KMEL in San Francisco LOVED him. I'm sure they still do.

The radio in Minneapolis still gives Prince a lot of plays. Songs that wouldn't be played anywhere else. Only further solidifies why I love that I moved hereππππ

Yes I remember. I was a young girl at the time. It was my favorite radio station. I liked it more than KDWB at the time.

U don't have to live anywhere to listen to their top fm stations... However more than just the current plays Prince, I often hear it At work, 92.5 (Bambi, wywtmsb, gold), 94.5 (top 40 plus I've heard starfish & coffee, thieves), and Kool 108 plays different songs so yeah it's not only the current, although the current probably loves him the most

At the beginning of Strange Relationship at the First Avenue show in 1987, he says "WLOL, this is your DJ, Prince" No Candy 4 Me

I love how connected he always remained to the Twin Cities.
