Agreed. I guess I am stating the obvious. He appeared to be sick in the photo taken days before his death and days after a near death experience and after several weeks of being sick. What else would we expect? I think the thing to focus on is that he LIVED in those final weeks despite his condition. Performing some of the best concerts in his career, recording, enjoying the company of his friends, parties at Paisley, hanging out in Minneapolis, etc. Prince would not have had it any other way. I'm so proud of our Prince.

One could easily mistake it for the look of a jet lagged person or one who is exhausted. There was something different if you got close up. For the sake of emphasis, you would have to see it up close and if you're lucky, in person.

His team stated he was suffering from the "flu "after the emergency landing ( this was a lie), the insomnia( which shouldn't be mistaken for working in the wee hours of the morning), numerous pharmacy visits reported in a span of a few days, his watery eyes that night at the fox ( looks familiar in that pic?) Lots of pain in the joints, and dare I say, thoughts of suicide/death that he often spoke of? We can make excuses for each of these but the it won't add up in the end.

These are the classic signs and symtpoms of opiate addiction/withdrawal. You have to speak to former/present users to recognize what is being presented. Now whether he was masking something else is up for debate , but I will say it again, most of us saw the deterioation .Regardless of the cause, little by little, he was wasting away. This is the look that you see. This is the battle for those who are dopesick and trying very hard to kick the habit. He almost made the turn. Just tragic.

I LITERALLY have been talking to my friend about this. He looks DRASTICALLY different in the last 6 months of his life than he did even at the begining of 2015. I can't figure out why.... is it really addiction? I know there were rumors out there that it might have been something more - that he was actually sick. I never thought about how he could have been sick from withdrawal/addiction, would that make him not resemble himself??

I can't get over it though - his face looks very long and thin, he doesn't even resemble himself in one picture I saw of him sitting at a piano and doing the "side-eye" - he looked like a completely different person, but only for the past few months... that's what boggles my mind. How could he change so much in a short time? Did the addiciton get worse? Was he sick from trying to beat it? etc.... OR was it all just catching up to him and hit him hard for some reason.

It's all very sad and I love him in SO SO SO much in ALL stages of his life (I've been on a kick of his albums from 1978 forward... and I have a slight current obsession with his early 90's look with the "Gett Off" and "Cream" era hair/outfits and talking/rap voice... hahaha - I digress).... but the way his facial structure changed.... even in his "Passport Photo" he looks like a different person than he did in 2010 on the BET Awards, or 2015 on New Girl..... his face is very long and he looks... I dunnno...... I can't put my finger on it! Is it really all just b/c he had lost weight and didn't feel good? Discuss!

We have absolutely no clue. And we have speculated from every possible angle and probably made up angles to discuss it some more. I think we've burnt out now.

Yeah I noticed that he stopped showing his hands as much as he used to about 2 years ago. This makes me want to cry imaging the pain of constantly playing an instrument with those hands. Poor Prince...God Bless his soul

Prince was always skinny due to his size, but I was saddened to see one of his last pics where he was bowing to the crowd. He is so emaciated and you can tell it through the clothes...Im sorry he went through those days alone and Im sorry he died alone. I really am...hurts my soul.

It really looks to me like he was reverting to his original - all natural - look: totally unplucked eyebrows (which does make a huge difference on a person's face) and the Afro of course. He also looks like he barely has any make up around his eyes, overall, that would indeed make him look totally different from the sophisticated Prince we once knew.

All this is true, but he just looks different. His face is longer and skinny, eyes are dull and people on here always complained about him sucking in his cheeks, but he wasnt they just look that way in this pic.

I know... But he's at peace now. Try not to torture yourself over it, he would probably prefer us to enjoy the present time and not reflect too much on the past that's gone.

Ummmm, does anyone else think he's still damn fine here? I love it when he smiles...naturally. It looks like he's happy and laughing here at least. Not saying he doesnt look older and a little tired, but still FOOOIIINNE!!!!

Because this is a forum. To discuss. He will always be gorgeous. But you can see the sunken eyes, the eyebrows looked penciled in, his hair is different, not dyed. Just observing, not demeaning.

When was this photo taken? Before or after the Atlanta concert? Is this the new piano? If so, then it must have been after.

He tweeted a pic on April 12th that the new piano had just arrived. The Atlanta show was April 14th. It could have been before or after.

He looks a lot healthier here than he does in the photo that I posted. He still looks different in the photo where he is wearing black, but he looks "alive." He looks like he is struggling in my photo.

I agree, his eyes don't look like they normally do in his photos. I believe both of these photos did not surface until after his death. I saw him Saturday April 16th and was probably 5 feet away from him at Paisley Park. Nothing looked amiss to me. He looked as thin as he always did.
