No, I am a fan of Prince who actually says things other than, "'If I Was Your Girlfriend' is great."

.

I bring reality here. Yes, "Mountains" was Prince's last great song. Yes, those ass cheek pants was the last time Prince mattered to the public. Yes, Prince was a fool for removing himself from youtube and for releasing download only albums. Yes, "Hypno Paradise" is one of Prince's top ten greatest songs of all time. Yes, the album "Come" is better than the album "Sign O' The Times."

.

I am a real Prince fan. Probably the only one here. I speak truth. Unafraid to say things that may be deemed unpopular. For that I am labelled a troll? OK, from now on I will only post, "'If I Was Your Girlfriend' is a masterpiece." Is that what you all want here. Uniformity? All think alike? God, if that is so, then you sure learned nothing from Prince and his music.

.

.

[Edited 6/29/16 13:50pm]

No. You're a troll who's delusional if you think that is what makes you a fan. Mountains wasn't the last great song. You just have your heard up your shhh because it's the only explanation for you to ignore his latest albums and accomplishments. You are contradicting your own comments. You didn't learn anything from Prince. No one is expecting uniformity, but if you were a fan you would recognize the body of work after that. Musicology, 3121 and hit N Run Phase 1 & 2, AoA... you're blinded by your narrowmind.

Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

Yup, folks, Prince's ass-cheeks outfit at the MTV Video Music Awards show was the last time Prince was great and mattered at all to the public. Sad thing it was way back in 1991. Last time Prince did something that mattered to the public was 25 years ago.

When was the last time YOU said something great or that mattered??

No, no, no. I knew some of you would mention the Super Bowl, but let's be honest, EVERYBODY who plays the Super Bowl is talked about the next few days. My God, a dancer wearing a goofy shark costume was the talk of the nation after Katy Perry did the Super Bowl. Prince talk after the Super Bowl was just par for the course with that gig.

.

No, the last time there was buzz and talk about Prince was because of those ass pants. Twenty-five years ago. Nothing since then.

"3121" is a good album, the others you mentioned were pretty bad. Prince did actually produce some quality work post-"Purple Rain." The twin download albums "Slaughterhouse" and "Chocolate Invasion" were two very good Prince albums. Far, far better than the ones you mentioned: "Musicology," "AoA," and the two "Phase" albums. You've been bamboozled, hoodwinked, took if you think those albums are any good.

To the general Top40 loving, MTV watching public? Then yes, I agree.

The American Top40/MTV public will possibly remember the superbowl performance, the rest of the normal/non-Prince-fan world has no clue what superbowl/halftime show is. And so on, and so on. There is a huge difference between Top40 general public and us fans.

You understand what I am driving at. Next morning water-cooler talk. Believe it, no one was rushing to the water-cooler just to talk about Prince's latest album of jazz instrumentals called "N.E.W.S."

Why are you here? You think causing controversy makes you a good fan - his only good fan?! How would you know what's relevant? Do you ever leave your home other than to re-stock the liquor cabinet? Actually your comments don't anger me in the least since they are so baseless as to be comical. Is that really the best material you have? The outpouring of love, grief, respect and solidarity since his passing is proof enough. His music has been in the top 10 in sales for over two months. His youtube videos are getting slammed with views and the comment sections are nothing but positive and glowing - absolutely unheard of on youtube as its usually a shit storm in there. Not to mention the fact that thousands of people were losing their minds even at his very brief appearance on an awards show just last fall. Shut 'yo mouth and TAKE A SEAT!

Then perhaps you should? I'm at a loss as to what might help your misguided impression of Prince's lack of relevance. But, no matter. It's just your opinion and you are obviously in the minority.
As far as learning how to live by following Prince's example, you do realize he was human and far from perfect, right? Modeling your life after him doesn't really prove anything. I adored the man and consider myself to be fiercely loyal as a fan even tho I haven't adopted his personal behaviors and principles per se (some of which were questionable at best). Lol
