Heard an interview that got me wondering about whether the Love 4 One Another charity was still in existence.

Hard to tell, since they lost their 501c3 for not filing their 990s with the IRS. According to the last one the charity filed (in 2007), they had about $12 million in assets.

Prince and Kirk Johnson were the directors at the time of their last filing. Charitable contributions totalling around $130k were made that year by Prince, Bria Valente, and Paisley Park Enterprises.

Those funds cannot go back into private hands (whether Prince's or someone else's) without significant tax and legal implications, so it's possible that money has been sitting in a bank account earning interest.

I don't know how this would play out in Minnesota, but in other states, those assets could eventually be seized by the state to be used for a like charitable purpose. From the expense report, it looks like the funds may have been held by a bank in Florida.
