I got a visit from the Jehovah's Witnesses this morning.

I got a visit from the Jehovah's Witnesses this morning while I was looking through pictures of Prince on my computer. I invited them in and showed them a picture of him and asked them if they knew who he was. And they said "Yes, that is brother Prince". I asked them if he was going to be one of the 144,000 people that make it into heaven. They said that they didn't know, and that nobody knows. I asked them if it was okay to use birth control and they said yes. So then is it okay to have sex for the sake of having sex and not for procreation? They said yes, if you are married. They were nice, and they gave me a magazine when they left.

I met a lovely lady from JW on a walk a few days ago - she didn't say she was a JW, she only spoke about a Biblical congregation and gave me a leaflet. When i read it, I realised what it was about. The funny thing is that when we met, I was listening to Prince on my phone. I joked that when I listen to Lenny Kravitz, I'll be approached by a rabbi cool

We get them here quite a bit, but the first time this year was the Sunday morning after we lost him. I gave my husband (because he's the one that will talk to anybody) a list of questions to ask because what they have to say doesn't make a lot of sense to me as a Christian. They don't believe in the cross yet Prince always wore one. They have only been in existance since the late 1800's, Chritianity for 2,000 years, why do they think their way is correct and we've got it wrong? I hope Prince is in Heaven, he believed in an afterworld until Larry the JW's, why was he always around, even at the end of Prince's interview with Larry King, he came on. Reminds me to much of Scientology people. 144,000 that's not a lot to inherit the earth.

admission is easy, just say U believe, then come 2 this place in your heart.

A few years ago I was mowing the lawn and listening to Prince and two Jehovah Witnesses drove up and introduced themselves. I thought the whole thing was funny. I didn't mention Prince to them but the coincidence made me laugh for a while. They were nice and didn't try to pressure or convert me. They were even a bit apologetic for interrupting my mowing. I wonder if they ever listen to Dirty Mind.

This sounds really selfish. But when I was thinking about Prince and the whole sturos, the cross becoming the christ I was thinking about what Prince did with his very noticeable cross that he used to wear in the Parade era etc.

I was thinking that he probably just threw it away as part of his faith. Other than the vault, guitars or a few items of clothing it would have been one of the great Prince keepsakes. I wish I could have got it, or at least another orger or a museum. Maybe it is in the vault still?

That sounds like a really nice talk. biggrin

Members of Prince's own congregation said on tv that he confirmed less than a month before he died that he hoped for eternal life in paradise here on earth. I find it very beautiful that he will have music forever.

It was on youtube, but I don't know if it's still there. Most witnesses won't know this, however, only if they knew him. Or watched youtube.

Re JW beliefs: 144,000 are going to heaven as OP stated. Billions here on earth.

Late 1800s - too long explanation.

Orgnote me for that and any other questions any of you may have. I am a witness and a Prince fan and not here to convert anyone. Just to talk about our purple friend. biggrin You can also visit jw.org for more facts.

He didn't wear a cross after he became JW. I used to wear one before as well.

And I can't answer for all 8 million plus JW, but no, I don't listen to Dirty Mind. LOL

LOL also on Lenny and the rabbi. cool

It's past midnight in Denmark, so I'll say goodnight to y'all. Peace.

No he's not. In his song '4ever' he mentions to the girl he wants to be with that they had forever or eternity to be together.

One that is 144,000's hope is in the heavens to rule as a priest or king (and they don't marry in heaven - marriage's purpose is to procreate which only humans do). If his hope was in heaven, he wouldn't have expressed his hope to be with his Sweetheart.

That's from I gathered...

Of course Prince is in heaven. He was generally a very good person. And he loved God.
But where is heaven? That's the question.
I felt his spirit shortly after he passed, I talked about that here, and I know I wasn't mistaken.

Spirits don't die. Our physical bodies do. Only.

How do you, JW , do to listen to Prince; lots of his songs talk about sex in a very explicit way, so how do you do?
