They elude me at this present time sunc, but I do know it's best to give them back! Imho, sometimes Prince is to be taken literally, sometimes figuratively, and sometimes ambiguously, and often at the same time--it is one of his gifts.

One meaning could be that the chains are the original link to The Truth, and we are pointing them in the wrong direction. It is only when we give them back to where they belong that they get relinked to us. And then, perhaps, we can play in the sunshine!
