That isn't the point either. My point is that people seem to care more about who is "right" than they actually give a crap about Prince.

Again, I want somebody to explain to me exactly why it is sooo important which media outlet got the scoop "first", since it didn't change the outcome one damn bit?

Are people that desperate for bragging rights? disbelief

My point is that there are a lot of people aiming their ire at TMZ because they broke so many aspects of this story accurately.

Because Prince died.

Which is pointless, because they have actually been pretty spot-on in their reporting of his death and the facts surrounding it.

Why so angry at TMZ? They didn't kill him.

Nanny-nanny-poo-poo....they were spot on a day or two early...wonderful! rolleyes

My point was to the original poster. And to anyone who's angry at TMZ for beaking the news. There were people all along railing against TMZ for their coverage.... but almost all of it was accurate.

The number of hours isn't the important part, the important part is that he left the hospital when they wanted him to stay because he couldn't get a private room. All Judith Hill said is he left the hospital in the morning and his flgiht left at 10:57 am. It doesn't even say what time he got to the hospital, what time he was first seen by a doctor, or what time he decided to leave. I do know it takes time to travel there, time to get processed once you get there, time to get processed when you leave, time to travel back to the airport.

That wasn't my question. You said people were assuming they were totally wrong when no one said any such thing.

All the OP said is they were wrong about ONE aspect of the story.

No, the OP suggested they were wrong that he left because he wanted a private room. There has been nothing to suggest that part is wrong. If they wanted him to stay 24 hours (which sounds perfectly reasonable) they would admit him in the hospital.

The Judith Hill article said Kirk never left Prince's side, but the way I took it was that Judith was possibly in and out of the room, because the article explicitly mentions Kirk and not her as being omnipresent.

I believe Prince likely was co-operative and played it cool to a point, but something had to happen, because hospitals don't just release you when they can find a reason to keep you around and run up the bill on you. In Prince's case, he nearly died from a self-admistered opiate overdose. That's a big big red flag right there. Bottom line, imo, there is no way on Earth, the hospital looked at Prince's situation and just said, "Nothing more to worry about here. Have a nice day!"

The TMZ info more than likely came from staffers at the hospital.

.

What PROBABLY happened is the ER staff was told that he did leave after three hours (maybe P was even told he was leaving)....but he was taken to another room.

So the story came from someone in the ER, obviously.

And?

I was going to ask you the same thing. I haven't read your posts and was originally responding to the OP.

I have no idea what you're going on about.

What I find disturbing is that people are not troubled on how they got the information. It's troubling that some medical staff could have spill the beans. Just because your famous, does not mean your health and medical history is open season for everybody to criticized and analyzed. Who knows how they got the info.

Than you have other " legitmate" news souces reporting their infor and they know that Tmz get the infor by unethical means. All people are doing when they are saying "well they were right", is encouraging them to do the same to other people. How far are they willing to go. It seems like they have been geting away with it way before Prince passed away. Their stick is cute with the regular paparazzi crap but it is not cute when it comes to health/medical issues and peoples kids. Super sad no matter how your look at it.

No, I'm specifically talking about the conclusion the OP made that Prince didn't leave because he wanted a private room and couldn't get one. Read the very first sentance of the OP. It says

"Sorry but TMZ was wrong about Prince leaving the hospital after a few hours because he could not get a private room."

I'm disagreeing with this conclusion. It seems very likely this is the reason he didn't stay 24 hours. He really shouldn't have left the hospital until it was to a rehab facility. The hospital can't force him to say, it's highly unlikely they didn't ask him to stay.

All I am doing is forcing you to own the words you actually typed. Here are the exact words you typed....

"I'm not crazy about some of the reporting these tabliod sites do, but it seems to be jumping to conclusions to assume they were totally wrong here."

To which I simply replied that neither the OP or anyone else ever said or assumed they were totally wrong in the first place. If you meant something else then you should not have written that sentence.

Yet, we are to blame also. Weren't we just waiting for any crumb of information about Prince? after Moline? after we heard that something was wrong at PP? after we found out The Purple One had passed?

I am not saying that TMZ was right. But they would be put out of business if no one bought their stuff.

RIP Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so much.
