Not sure how often you play prince around your house or in the car with your kids/grandkids around.But,as you all know kids pick up on everything.Anyway,my 10 year old has a nice drumset wants to be the next S.E... She thinks that she plays by ear (she doesn't lol).Every year her school has a little talent show so she wants to do LUCKY,ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST OR CREAM LOL YEP CREAM.I said why cream?!!! She said she likes the DRUMS on that song Wondering outside of prince's major fans do people let alone kids know the meaning behind some of his great songs Do you guys tell your kids when they sing his songs?HELP.....

My 4 year old likes some Prince songs. Lets go Crazy, Take me with you and Puple Rain are her faves. She is certanly not old enough to interpret anything like the meaning of Cream, and I have listened to that with her around. My best friend and I learned the meaning of masterbation by listening to Darling Nikki. Her mom overheard us saying "I wonder what that means", she said if you can't understand it you shouldn't be listening to it, and then explained it LOL yeah that was a rather uncomfortable conversation.

If she likes Cream, I say do it. Here's why... several times Prince has said that he wrote the lyrics to "Cream" while looking in the mirror. Ever since I heard him say this, I read the lyrics totally different than I originally thought (originally the sexual meaning came to mind). Reread these lyrics and imagine him talking about himself rising to the top (his sucess, fame, his talent, etc). Once I saw him say in an interview "Cream rises to the top". I think he might have been referencing the song, but cant remember. Anyway, this all makes sense with the song lyrics, etc. Now, of course P loved to make sexual innuendos in his songs, so I'm sure he figured originally people would take it as a song about sex, but after hearing him say it was written in the mirror (so about himself) and the cream rises to the top thing, this song takes on a whole different interpretation. You could tell her this (which is actually true because he said it himslef) and of course dont refer to the other meaning that it could imply. (JUST DONT SHOW YOUR DAUGHTER THE CREAM VIDEO!)

Thank u both.Growing up from the moment i saw sheila i knew no one could touch her.And it rubbed off on maiya.She's really starting to pickup.She tells me ok stop it there....ok start it there lol.We have video but,im not getting sued I think we have to get a mechanical licence
