I swear reading these kinds of witty comments must make me look like the happiest security guard ever! Employees and customers keep giving the "Are You Well?" side eye look when I randomly try to die laughing 'quietly' lol lol lol lol lol

Happy to help. lol Especially when you know it's true that boy just wasn't even trying to turn it down. Lil dude was out there like TURN DOWN 4 WHAT.

I love to watch the clips of him live and watch the interviews especially when he does something so witty or causes the the general audience to go all eek eek I kind of get the impression that he loved seeing the shocked expressions on folks faces! biggrin

Not gonna lie, I almost died because I choked on coffee when I read that. He did look like he was enjoying that a little too much, the little bugger. Brah didn't need no downshift, he needed to be thrown into Lake Minnetonka.

Turn down for what exactly!! This thread made me think of this song: https://m.youtube.com/wat...DmGnGueik8

"People don't dance no more all they do is diss"
Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.

Okay, what was it? Explain to me what you're seeing there, then, cause it doesn't seem particularly alarming to me. Raunchy, yes, but Prince was always raunchy in one way or another, so I'm kinda not really alarmed.

That snippet looked like his backup dancers danced humped his little butt for one count while he humped the stage.

But he did similar moves (fall on the stage, have his dancers fall on him, shriek, get up) for Gett Off so it's not completely unexpected.

That's what I'm saying. He did that kind of thing. And haha, yeah it did kind of look like that. Duno whether that was intentional or nah, but I'm pretty sure it crossed his mind at one point or another, and he simply didn't give a shit, or it wouldn't have happened. I mean, if you look at his face (difficult I know with all of that other madness happening :lol) it look like he was grinning a little bit.

As usual, Prince was up to absolutely no good at all.

Did that man ever have an unintentional moment on stage in his life? Most men that small either go in one of two directions: they're either hyper aggressive and go straight to the gym for eons trying to gain weight or they go for making people laugh.

They don't actively play up being tiny or femme or androgynous or anything that kind of hints they might be fucked. It's brief enough to escape most straight people's notice but for the gay men or the pegging fans it's right there to tweak them.

You have a point. I'm just very used to not giving a second thought to a person's self expression. They simply are who they are and that's that. Prince never really bothered me by being 'feminine'. Basically 'girl, whatever' is what I felt about it.

naw, that was noticeable and I thought he blew his chances for a comeback right there, cuz i was sitting there pulling for him. but he did ok, d&p sold better than any albums since what? Purple Rain maybe, so it worked. I always wondered what those poor guys who were told to do that shit musta thought. Like i said to my best friend, they probably got together and said "prince asks us to do some wierd shit huh?".

Brain explodes into a remix of someone saying "Bruh down shift!" screeching wheels, sleigh bells, Santa saying "Ho, ho, ho!" and some Eartha Kitt nonsense about a chimney and laps.

I'm shaking with laughter here.

I've been debating this snippet of choreography with my male friends and family members for years. lol. Just recently since P. transitioned. I've always explained it away as avant garde 'shock value choreography', (what do I know?) however the guys I know weren't having it.

The reaction by every guy who has seen it:

"Aw hell naw. Ain't no way I'm dancing with no other dude like that. Nah! And y'all still goin' crazy over this brotha'?" or some variation of this. lol

One even pulled out the old Fred Sanford:

There's an earlier "Tevin Campbell Performance on Arsenio Hall Show" youtube clip (posted 7 years ago) where Tevin and the NPG (Gameboyz, Levi, Sonny T, Rosie, Matt Fink, Michael Bland -- minus Prince) performs the only good version of "Round And Round" any of us have ever heard.

Much of the same choreography was used. Prince just took it one step further -- per usual wink

This (Tevin Campbell performance on Arsenio in 1990) must have been before the SNL 15th Anniversary performance of "Electric Chair" -- because Matt Fink is still in the band at this point -- wasn't in the SNL performance. Anyways

My original line was "Bruh, pull up", but I thought that might only add to the thrustin' action.

"Bruh, pull up" could totally work if you introduce the reindeer.

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen also work as stripper/dancer/endearment names, especially if the singer just loses his/her mind and starts wailing about reindeer games. Add some polyphonic harmonies.

DYIN'. I'M DYIN'.
