My guess would be Prince. I wouldn't read anything special into it -- it's just choregraphy.

Where Prince slides through the backup dancer's legs and... whatever the hell else P was doing after that. lol There was some assisted stage-humping happening. And prince totaly got flipped right over. By the hips.

The more I think about it, the more I realize his itty bitty ass got manhandled a lot by his crew. I gotta say he missed his chance to be a flyer for some competitive cheerleading team, man. Which would have been hilarious in a way.

Because he was Prince, and as Arsenio Hall said, with him you never know. He just liked doing provocative shit because he could.

Okay, what was it? Explain to me what you're seeing there, then, cause it doesn't seem particularly alarming to me. Raunchy, yes, but Prince was always raunchy in one way or another, so I'm kinda not really alarmed.

Didn't you know that Prince was always messing with gender and sexual norms...even during his "hip hop" influenced stuff?

Heh. This is why I am confused as to why they're worried. Didn't this man basically randomly do this kind of thing for about 20 years (or maybe longer, I don't even know, I don't tend to read much into shit Prince did since that would require more effort than I'm willing to put in.)? Mike stands, random guitarists, pianos, floors... whatever was clever.

I fail to see why this particular performance was so unusual for the time period. Wasn't this around the ame time period he literally showed his ass at the AMA's?

Does it really need explaining? Can you imagine if we had all been on the org after watching that performance?

Beautiful, Loved and Blessed

Thank You Prince

He liked to shock people then sit back and watch the reaction. I am sure it amused him no end.

Oh, Lord...

That just made me sad... Great performance but all I could think was "Do you have to jump so high off the piano?"

That and that Prince and the Game Boyz couldn't do choreography...that was some lame ass dancin'...better when he feels it...felt it.

Brilliant though. Brought a smile to my face.

Not much different than Madonna and her antics, especially that kiss onstage with Britney. Its all about shock n provocation...Around the time of this show Madonna was grabbing her crotch like a man and doing other questionable moves on her Blonde Ambition tour

Yup. They're serious. And I'm not even gonna speculate on it. I figured somebody would be questioning his sexuality at some point like it even mattered. lol

It's not even about his sexuality, my dear. It's a bloody choreography! But do they question it also when he wears makeup, pink clothes, frills, sings I want to be your girlfriend, whatever??? 30 odd years later, still seeing comments like this just... just... I dunno. sad

Oh, no, I agree with you -- it was the first thing I said. I meant upthread when certain folks were all, it's MORE THAN PROVOCATIVE, and some halfwit was like "gay?" and other such nonsense.

Meanwhile, I just looked at that whole performance like, "Girl, it's whatever. Prince does that, where have you been."

But really, are you surprised? People just have to attach great meaning to something that's not even meaningful.

Not gonna lie, I almost died because I choked on coffee when I read that. He did look like he was enjoying that a little too much, the little bugger.

Brah didn't need no downshift, he needed to be thrown into Lake Minnetonka.

I swear reading these kinds of witty comments must make me look like the happiest security guard ever! Employees and customers keep giving the "Are You Well?" side eye look when I randomly try to die laughing 'quietly' lol lol lol lol lol

Y'all are tripping. It's Prince. That's what he does. Did. sad

That's how you act when you are 100% confident in your own masculinity / sexuality that you can do stuff that looks cool/ fun. He was a little dude so I'm sure he was like any chance I get to be thrown around, I'm taking it. He was an athlete for sure.
Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.
