For starters, sorry if there is already a thread out there for this that I missed!

For me, it was When Doves Cry. When I was younger I would fall asleep to the radio. I would always wake up in the middle of the night if they played When Doves Cry. At the time I did not know who it was, so I asked my mom and she told me it was Prince. I had her buy me the CD, I was I think 11-12. I became an instafan, loved every song on the album and I've been in love with him and his music ever since.

How about you?

Just a word of warning, others will come in and derail the thread because there are multiple threads about this. BUT, for me, "Little Red Corvette".

I became a hardcore fan in 1979 when I heard I Wanna Be Your Lover. Followed him ever since. Attended concerts here in the US and in Europe! I was very fortunate!

Gold Experience has been playing in my car for weeks! I switch to a few other discs every now and then but I keep going back to jam on Gold Experience.
