One thing I've been wondering is how many hours in each day that man had to have so many really close (especially female) friends who had a particularly close relationship with him and whom he loved. He may have used that word a lot, but something isn't right with all those claims to a special place in his heart. I think Judith was probably one who did have a close relationship with him. And I'm very glad she shared her experience.
I agree that they should respect his privacy, but also that in so doing they may do more harm than good. And so perhaps they should share at least something.
No-one has the right to know, but we get info anyway so if folks know something that could make him look better than he does now.. Well, spill the beans by all means. |

nothing uncommon, in all the elvis books the guys make it sound like they had a special connection that none of the other guys had. andectdotes and stories, most of them I doubt. even, was it jon bream or neal karlen, who tried to say prince would call him up and say he loved him? I couldn't see that or the reason for it. Prince didn't really even like journalists but when you are a superstar everyone wants some limelight to spread around on themselves. |

Huh. I guess I still would honour my deceased loved ones by still respecting their wishes. If they were previously a private person, I don't think it's very thoughtful to suddenly air out their private matters just because they're no longer here to object.
Maybe it's a *crazy Canadian* thing... [Edited 6/22/16 14:59pm]Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

The problem about sharing info is it will fall into the hands of the tabloids. There's simply no way to keep it excusively for fans. Also if he wished to keep certain things private they should respect that. It's difficult because I understand the reasons for wanting to know but I think the only info we as fans are going to get is the cause of death...the overdose and that's it. We have to find a way to accept that and move i guess. It would help if someone confirmed WHY he was on such strong painkillers though.
Speaking to a legitimate news source (as Judith Hill did with the New York Times) is the best way to keep things out of the tabloids.
It's when things are secret/down low that the tabs can throw money at people to get them to talk. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me. |

Since Prince's death, several of his friends (Van Jones, Demaris, etc.) have commented on Twitter or wherever that they are protecting his privacy (like this from Demaris: https://twitter.com/Damar...1085883392 ).
I have such mixed feelings about people close to him who may know things about his health struggles, death circumstances, etc. keeping their knowledge private. On the one hand, props to them -- they're honoring his wishes and memory in a way that they feel respects him. On the other hands, there are those of us who have long -- in some case, many-decade -- "relationships" with Prince that, while not face-to-face, were extremely meaningful to us, too. And not knowing more about what was going with him is nearly as hard for some of uis as having an in-person friend die and simply not knowing why they're gone or what they were dealing with.
What do you orgers think? Should Prince's friends continue to respect his privacy as they did when he was alive? Or should they help ease the minds of the many of Prince's "friends" like us, by sharing more info that might help us understand? I'm not sure myself...
I don't have a right to expect anything from Prince's associates, even information that might help with healing.
I can see why people would be concerned about setting the record straight though, because of how it might impact his legacy. No one should be lied on, especially when they are not here to defend themselves.
How do you balance that? Many times when Prince was alive he didn't bother to address the many unfair and untrue things that were said about him over the years but I'm not going to be too hard on people who speak up in his defense.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. |

I think it would help me to know more. I do understand them wanting to continue to respect his privacy though. I will say every woman that has ever been in his life he made them feel special. I personally don't think he was involved with Judith in a romantic way although I'm sure he said those things to her. Some of these people respecting his privacy are doing so because they know nothing but since they want us to believe they were so close to him, they're pulling the respecting his privacy card. We may never know the truth. #LoveU4EverMyPrince💜💜💜 |

without going into details.. maybe parts of his battle with pain can possibly help save another person's life. and I'm sure Prince would want his experience to do that.
agreed

I think they can do what they want -- it's their lives now. I'm gone.
I also don't have millions of people who have devoted time, money, heart and soul to me (or to an idea they have of me) who also might be soothed by understanding why i'm gone. |

Protect his privacy? Maybe, but there's also HIPAA law to be considered and no doubt a great many are aware of or were made aware of what HIPAA is. Protection extends to the deceased. Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end |

There probably is a will and trusts and everyone just had to sign non disclosure statements got get what he left them.
There are probably people who prefer not to be known and I would bet money the state of MN, Channhassen, and MPLS are all beneficiaries- also having to keep his privacy. Dude had it like that.
No matter what truths anyone released or stated there will always be other theories as to what happened.
I'm glad they are respecting his wishes. It means he was truly respected and adored even by those he may have had tense relationships with. Everyone loved him because he had that shine. Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick. |

I could see that. I could see Tyka immediatly saying there is no will because she knew what her brothers wishes were. I'm not a human
I am a dove
I'm your conscious
I am love
All I really need is to know that
You believe |
