As I've been working my way through my CDs I put this on about a month ago and after a few seconds had to turn it off.

Have to be in the mood.

So I sort-of forced myself to put it on this week and almost wanted to turn it off again after a couple minutes.

But I forced myself to listen.

And --- damn!

It grew back into me.

This is such a good album and if you look at it like a Parliament outer-space epic; it's awesome.

Such powerful music.

Some highlights include the "We Want Prince!" chant during "Everlasting Now;" it just evokes happy times.

Truly an epic achievement overall.

What do y'all think of TRC?

Personally, I love it. But I'm embarrassed to say when it came out I made everybody at my last job listen to it, I was really loopy back then. But they let me go on and on about Prince this and Prince that, so obviously they didn't mind. Man, I must have been annoying.

Yes. It sort of feels like the "sequel" to Lovesexy; but on a much bigger scale.

I love TRC. Don't understand all the hate towards it, it's wonderful. I also think it's a very spiritual album, it ressonated with me.
I love Digital Garden (this is such a beautiful song, I listen to it on repeat a lot), Everywhere, Mellow, Last December, Rainbow Children, Muse 2 the Pharaoh.

Strictly musically speaking it is Prince's opus magnum to me.

It revived my interest in his music after his dreadful 90's-output.

It's a challenging album, certainly gets the listener thinking. Art should do that I suppose. It's militant JW Prince though. Not for everyone. As a fan i like it but wouldn't put it on in company. Family Name, The Everlasting Now and Last December are an amazing end three tracks. Ideology or not.

Manchester ONA here at the other Apollo. It was a great tour. When 'Empty Room' struck up my brain nearly exploded with the sheer joy of it. I loved those smaller venues. After that tour he was less daring with the setlists until sadly, this last tour.

The one album that is up there with the 80s greats imo. Top 5 album for me.

Movies completely suck today because no one takes a chance. No one dares to be great. No one dares to be epic. Most movie goers feel that APOCALYPSE NOW was not a great film. Most consider it a failed attempt at something great. But that's why I love it -- Coppola dared. He tried. Did he succeed fully? No. Did Prince suceed fully with "The Rainbow Children"? No. But I love it because he tried. He swung for the fences, knew he could be laughed out of the ballpark...but he swung anyway.

The Rainbow Children is one of my top ten favorite Prince albums.

This album has some outstanding tracks on it. The JW element doesn't bother me; I don't have to convert to enjoy the album.

I love this comment. Kinda sounds like how I was too, with the people I worked with. Always preachin' the good word about Prince to anyone who would listen. I might've annoyed a co-worker or two back in the day, too. Wouldn't trade a minute of it, either...

As for TRC... ambitious, musically brilliant, often lyrically intriguing (and confounding)... I still love "She Loves Me 4 Me" (fave track on the album). Won't complain about the narration... well, yes I will - I wish it wasn't there. But it is, so I'll take the good with the not-so-good. I largely dismissed the album for years, but keep coming back to it. I admire it greatly - even if I ultimately feel its reach exceeds its grasp.

great great album... great musical arrangements...."Everywhere" gives me goosebumps everytime...i had heard different songs from the album before, and never really was impressed, but after listening to the album in its entirety since TIDAL uploaded them, im overwhelmed by how good this album is...i dig the narration throughout the album that alot of others complain about...i respect his desire to weave his spiritual journey into his music....very bold move, knowing that people would be offended and turned off... but no surprise there... he elevated his career not giving a fuck, with Dirty Mind and Controversy

The album is absolute genious. Like Sign O the Times or Purple Rain, you feel a "wow" on every listen.
