Anyone visit Paisley Park lately?

I was wondering what Paisley Park is looking like after 2 months. Are people still coming out to leave things/flowers? I wanted to go so bad but it seems that there is always something keeping me from leaving town. I also wanted to wait to see if there would be some sort of Memorial or Tribute show to go to when I'm there. Not sure if that's ever gonna happen.

I was last there on his birthday. There were a number of folks wandering about that day. But when I was there the wknd before his bday there were only a couple other folks besides myself. It was later in the evening tho and I was passing by on my way home from a wedding and just had to stop for a moment. There are a few momentos and things showing up again after being cleared away once already. It's very quiet around there for the most part. And there are security guards inside the two gates 24/7 still. If I knew how to post pics I would post a pic i took of the pretty purple flowers blooming at the front door entrance to the main building.
It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

I went there on Saturday (the 18th), I live about 40 minutes away in St Paul. It was my second time going, the first being April 22nd. It's a very sobering place to be now, the weight of reality sits heavy with you there. Despite being off a busy road, it was quiet and still--Paisley Park seemed empty and hollow. I was moved almost to tears. Police were present to ensure no funny business. His tour bus still sits in the back driveway.

A lot of the memorials that were left have been taken down or destroyed by wind and rain. I've heard they may also be trying to preserve them. The grass is dead and dying outside the fence from all the foot traffic. There were a few visitors there to pay their respects. Dan Lacey, who painted the Prince picture below when I visited the first time, was there painting a third. He posts about his artwork on Twitter.

I bought a new (film) camera that day as well and took it to Paisley to take some pictures. I tried messing with them to fit nicely in my reply's box but it was too much of a hassle. I put them in an Imgur album where you can see them here. I actually spent a lot of time (and film) trying to photograph that painting but they all came out overexposed. hrmph It is indeed beautifully vivid.

Your mention of the purple flowers blooming reminded me of this:

When lilacs last in the dooryard bloom’d,
And the great star early droop’d in the western sky in the night,
I mourn’d, and yet shall mourn with ever-returning spring.

Ever-returning spring, trinity sure to me you bring,
Lilac blooming perennial and drooping star in the west,
And thought of him I love.

Hope this is still considered as being relevant to this topic but what has/will happen to the all the staff he had that worked inside Paisley Park such as the people that made his costumes, and so forth?

I live a mile or so from Paisley and drive by it every day on my way to/from work.

There's a few things still up at Paisley:

And stuff along the walkway and inside the tunnel that goes underneath the main highway (Hwy 5):

And the house was lit up on his birthday:

Paisley Park is in your heart
