Love Never Has To Say Goodbye written by Vinnie Barrett Well, that's what a few different places say (Barrett's Facebook, a few videos on a popular site)--but I can't find anyone else performing it so far. I know I've never heard it except for Prince's outtake, and I don't remember anyone ever bringing this composition credit up before. Princevault assumes it's Prince's song.
Has anyone else got any information on this subject?

Who is Vinnie Barrett and how do we know he wrote it? Does the song have a copyright? "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I knew it didn't sound like a Prince original. So if this was written in 1997, it's not an Emancipation outtake after all. Interesting. This is not music, this is a trip
No, it's not a drug, it's something more hip Don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine Purple music does the same to my brain

Ahh, why didn't I do a copyright search before I posted? Then I could have jumped to other questions. Okay--now, PAU registrations are when an unpublished work is copyrighted, right? So, still no evidence that the song was released at any point--so it's not something that was hiding out on some b-side that Prince decided to record. But if it wasn't released in some form, how did it get to Prince, I wonder?
